I bought this as a gift, as this was the specific one the person wanted. However, I own on that looks almost identical, and has identical functionality, for about 1/4 of the price. Both units read to within 0.1 degrees of each other (and forget what anyone on YouTube tells you: your steak does not need to be cooked to within 0.1 degrees). Summary: well made, nice display, probably not worth the price unless you simply want this particular unit.

.....aber es kam -da in einem normalen Briefumschlag versendet- mit zerfledderter Verpackung bei mir an. Ich fürchtete beim Auspacken Schlimmes. Inbetriebnahme und erste Tests zeigten jedoch, das das Thermometer einwandfrei zu funktionieren scheint. Ich habe zum Vergleich noch ein Bratenthermometer von Weber, das jedoch sehr langsam reagiert. Wenn man da am Grill schnell mal die Kerntemperatur des Grillgutes messen will, wird es trotz Grillhandschuhen unangenehm warm. Deshalb legte ich mir auch das hier rezensierte Thermopro 620 zu, das als sehr schnell gerühmt wird. Und ja, das kann ich jetzt bestätigen: es IST sehr schnell. Länger wie 2/3 Sekunden dauert es nicht, bis das Messergebnis vorliegt. Auch sonst ist es sehr durchdacht/praktisch/robust/liegt gut in der Hand. Was man bei 40 Euro Kosten aber auch erwartet. Was mich im Moment noch irritiert ist, daß das Thermopro bei Vergleichsmessungen grundsätzlich 1 bis 2 Grad Celsius mehr anzeigt als das Weber-Bratenthermometer. Werde es evtl. kalibrieren.......
