These look identical to the ones we had at work at a large auto manufacturing plant. I’ve seen reviews of people saying they’re no good because a cats claws went through or a thorn. Remember, these are to protect against cutting not stabbing type issues. Like at work when handling sharp sheet metal. I’m retired now and these work great at home for their intended purpose.

They are great for working around high heat machinery. The material is thick and stretch enough to fit comfortably, not loose.

They work! I am 69 with thinning skin on the forearms but still do lots of yard work, hedge and tree trimming, plus having both loving dogs and cats as pets who dig into me now and then. Wearing the sleeves has really helped doing the yard work. They go up past my elbows, stay up, do not feel hot even in Texas summer heat, and wash up nicely for the next use. Had a dermatologist appointment this week, told the doctor, and he said this is an excellent product he tells patients to get and use to prevent slow healing blood blisters, nicks, cuts, and scrapes when doing outside yard work. Got 3 pair for $21. Gave one pair to neighbor lady who regularly tears her elderly arms up cutting and cleaning holly bushes surrounding her home. Well worth the price for us senior landscapers!

Good cover with high elasticity. Great for working with glass, or cutting prickly plants. Keep a pair in your tool kit.

These Kevlar sleeves are adequate forearm protection for most jobs. They provide a safety shield against burns, cuts, scraps, and some sharp objects, not all. A needle or safety pin will go right through the material with no problem. The jobs that pose this risk are too many to list. Since most thorns are flared, they do not penetrate the kevlar as easily as needles. Years ago, I made a great pair of sleeves out of heavy cotton duck cloth and Velcro. They did the job but they were rather stiff and hot. Keep in mind, there are reasonable limits governed by common sense. If you jam your arm into a table saw or stab it with a ice pick, you might need to see a doctor. The sleeves I'm currently wearing have been washed several times. They are now 15 inches long from hem to hem. The new, unworn sleeves are 18 inches from hem to hem. The same two problems exist with both the Kevlar and my homemade sleeves: 1. After being worn for awhile, they tend to fold down toward the wrist. Simply pin the protector to your shirt sleeve with a large safety pin. Pinning this material is easy. If you don't wear a shirt, you have a bigger problem than I want to belly up to. 2. If these sleeve protectors are worn for hours in hot conditions, some folks might suffer from a heat rash on their arms which might be as painful as thorn pricks. This is nothing more than the same fungus that causes diaper rash. Again, the solution is simple. Coat your arms with 40% zinc oxide ointment and bath powder beforehand. Most drugstores and big-box marts carry their own store brands. It's commonly called diaper rash ointment and baby powder. Whatever works best usually is.
