I was first introduced to these literal life savers while in active service and holy stop hemorrhaging are they awesome. I like to keep one of these beauties in each first aide kit I keep stashed around, and being an active outdoorsy person, I keep many. Might be thinking "Well yeah but when am I going to really need a tourniquet?" Lemme tell you, stuff happens. And for a decent price you can have you a super effective one with the little flap to write down the time it was applied. (Important to keep track of). The hook and loop strap is large and will hold secure over a willowy upper arm or a muscle-bound thigh. The tension wrench gets that sucker tighter still and then you just slide it into the keeper, secure the flap and make sure you note the time of application. It is very easy to use and appears to be well made. Someone could actually use this themselves. Once on you turn the rod/stick attached and it tightens up to stop any bleeding. This is a must have, just hope it is never needed.
