Reverb Guitar Pedal, Verb Square Digital Reverb 7 Modes Room, Hall, Church, Spring, Plate, Studio, Mod, True Bypass

Absolutely astonishing reverb pedal! I have many amps, all of them tube amps that range from 5 watts up to 150 watts. Some have built in spring tanks, some have a digital reverb simulation, and some have none. I bought this pedal for the ones that don't have reverb built in, but after hearing this pedal, I probably will just use it instead of the built in reverbs, as this thing is able to dial in MANY sounds / reverbs in one sitting as opposed to the single kind you get with certain amps. I was impressed! Some people in the review sections have mentioned that it's sub par, and sounds like crap, etc. But I am willing to bet they may not know how their particular amp / amps work. With many years of experience, you come to find out that not all amps are equal, and some you need to put certain pedals, such as a reverb, in the FX loop, and others, in front of the amp. I have one in particular that this pedal doesn't sound quite right in the FX loop, where other pedals do, but putting this reverb in front of it was the cure to the issue at hand (which was minor anyway, I could have lived with it after tweaking). That particular amp in pretty picky about pedals anyway. Some other amps I have, this thing sounds killer IN the FX loop and NOT in front. So, if you have this pedal, and you find yourself not liking the tone, change it around, it probably has to do with your particular amp and how it likes to take pedals. This pedal is well worth the price I paid, which was full listed price, and I would absolutely buy it again!

OK so I kind of echo the same things others have said however, I am not going to jump on the same "omg this thing is outstanding sounding" bandwagon.Sound:Look I am not expecting to get a strymon big sky sound for 45.00 however I figured after reading the reviews this thing would be pretty damn good. I am going to put it in the category of , it is exactly what it is.. a 45.00 reverb pedal. It does nothing outstanding, but it doesn't completely suck. The spring does not sound that great(basically no rattle to it at all), the plate could really use a better algorithm. Church could use a much deeper sound. Mod does basically nothing. It's not all just "meh" though. The "studio" preset is actually my favorite. I think it sounds the best. NOW MY BIGGEST COMPLAINT on the pedal is that it has very weak max decay time. I am talking real short. You put it on church and max it out I am expecting some really long decays.....NOPE.... This is probably not a big to some of you, but for my needs it is.Construction:The thing feels built well, but hold any metal box this size in your hand and tell me that it doesn't. We confuse a small sturdy box with being well built. That being said it does seem fine. The knobs feel tight and not wobbly. LED is bright maybe too bright, but whatever. OH one thing I think they could change is the "click" strength of the pedal switch itself. Like if you do it with your fingers you have to give it a pretty good push to get it activated. This is a 1st world problem though so whatever. IT's sturdy. The form factor is obviously small which is great.Value:See this is the tough call. At 45.00 it's basically worth about that. It's not like one of those steals like the berhinger echo machine you could get for 30.00 and you got 100's of dollars in value, or like their vintage phase. This pedal is basically on par which the type of reverbs that are built in to some mixers. Even less powerful than some of those. So it's tough. It feels good in hand (as any metal box this size should), and not crazy expensive, but it's not berhinger cheap either. Its just that.So in conclusion, its exactly what it claims to be. a 45.00 sounding reverb that feels really sturdy. No ground breaking reverbs or value. There's about 12 other reverbs in this same price range that sound probably just the same. That the issue. It's a saturated market making the decision hard with no clear winner.I like donner as a company so far.. I have another pedal from them that works great and sounds pretty damn good.

The Donner Verb Square is a delightful surprize. First thing I noticed is that the packaging that the Verb Square came in is quality and class. It is designed for long term protection of this little powerhouse. Next, Donner included a simple single sheet of crip notes: just enough to tell you what you need to know to sail this amazing little pedal. Then the pedal is nicely designed and well manufactured. The layout is simply ergonomic. It provides what is needed in an orderly and Spoc-logical fashion. It oozes from it's very essence that the Donner Verb Square is rugged. It is not fragile. The stout metal case is built like an Army tank, the all metal full bypass footswitch is well manufactured and made ruggedly, the bright red LED is mounted low in the top of the housing so that the foot switch absorbs the weight of a foot so that a foot will not normally and naturally tap to damage the LED. The jacks are stout with a positive reassuring 'click' as the instrument cord is firmly seated within the jack signaling a firm connection and reliable signal. Even the green paint is well done and quality. In Chinese fashion, the Verb Square is decorated with a random white helm wheel that somehow seems to just belong. The selection of quality pots and knobs nicely operate the main controls. The largest knob selects one of about every reverb ever used: Room, Hall, Church, Spring, Plate, Studio and Mod. The three smaller knobs provide a fineness with keen accuracy and positive utility when dialing together the perfect balance of E. LEVEL, DECAY and TONE control as described in the provided cheat sheet. Thankfully, the Donner engineers apparently made the pedal be an overall gain of one. What this means is that when you step on the footswitch, the signal volume does not go noticeably up or down: it just gives this smooth addition of reverb to the signal. That means the Verb Square can be placed in the effects loop in an amplifier between the preamp stage and poweramp stage without causing problems of feedback, noise, volume level changing or other undesirables when switching reverb on or off. I tried it on my Ampeg VL-501 in the effects loop: switched on and whoopee sweet reverb; switched off and reverb goes away with the rest of the amp personality, and, therefore, my tone, unchanged except for the desired addition or removal of reverb. The individual reverb effects are organic and natural. I liked them all. Even the massaged Mod setting is well done. This little guy is attractive, ergonomic, rugged, organic and natural. What more could one ask for? Well . . . It does all of that on a budget. It is very price competitive with its competitors. It is made for poor musicians to have a very well built, space conserving, organic sounding, functional and attractive pedal that is frugal and made for years of reliable multi reverb mode operation. As the movie critics would say, Bravo!! Two thumbs up!!👍👍

Sounds great, is basic and gets the job done: adds a bunch of warm depth to my 10W practice amp and lots of flexibility to the 100-watter. All profiles sound decent and you even get a nice little chorusey modulation thrown in on the "Mod" setting. I believe a pro in a studio might be able to distinguish the effects quality between this and something more expensive in a side-by-side situation (eg, no "rattle" on the Spring setting, the max depth with Level and Delay turned all the way up isn't going to be super deep, etc.), but in real life I doubt any listener is going to call the sound cheap or "inauthentic". Tiny little thing but small size means small controls: I can't adjust one knob without my fingers bumping into the neighboring ones, though they're resistant enough not to move when accidentally brushed like that. My biggest complaint is that the larger Mode knob turns much more easily than I would like and only "softly" clicks into position, but I'm a casual player and won't really be fiddling with it much once I dial in a tone I like. I think I'd prefer the Mode knob to be smaller and the Level/Decay/Tone ones to be bigger, but that's personal preference. Apart from the mushiness of the Mode knob it appears to be solidly built. LED is bright and obvious, footswitch feels like a standard footswitch, connections feel tight enough. As is clearly noted, it doesn't come with a power supply and can't run off batteries so I picked up the Donner DPA-1 5-device adapter (they spell it "adaptor") to juice it up.

This reverb pedal works fine..........if you place it in the effects loop. For me, it was unusable directly from guitar to amp. It sounded way to digital with too many artifacts in the sound, muddy. Even in the effects loop, when I play the spring reverb with distortion, I can hear a faint wobbling sound that kinda ruins it. Clean it shines. I am liking the plate reverb setting the best. Not bad for the price. For the plate reverb alone, it's worth it to me. My Marshall dsl40r has very weak built in reverb, so this is a plus compared to that.

The Green Reverb. I honestly have nothing but good things to say about this pedal. Does exactly what it says it will do. Personally prefer the spring setting, this pedal does not sacrifice your tone. Currently have it daisy chained with a few other pedals without issue, so an isolated ground is not critical to the pedals function.The Yellow Fall Analog Delay. Fantastic little analog delay pedal. If you want to add a little distance or play the Tristram theme from Diablo lol, this pedal has you covered. Also, daisy chained without issue.The Mod Square is also one of my pedal board favorites. Primarily use the Chorus and Phaser functions with occasional Flanger use, this pedal performs beautifully. So much I'm buying a second for a mini board setup. I have this pedal daisy chained as well with no issues.The Mod Square II. Alright, I love Donner pedals but this one missed the mark. I was really excited to try this pedal as it had the same features as the original Mod Square with a ton of new settings, but I can't get past what it does to the tone. The only way I can describe it, is that it sounds like the signal is being forced through ear buds. There is also no slack in the volume control, meaning if you set it to max you still have some volume loss. I would skip the Mod Square II and go with the original. Definitely needs an isolated ground or you get some pretty squirrely sounds out of it.

I ordered this in a rush because I had a show coming up. When I first unboxed it, I was impressed by its sleek design and high-quality packaging. But when I plugged it in, I immediately was not impressed with the sound. It sounded like a robot, or like a really sped-up delay pedal, rather than reverb. "Okay", I thought, "I'll just adjust the settings and maybe it'll sound better."After hours of messing with it, I finally got a DECENT reverb sound out of it; still not great, but barely sufficient.But then I noticed it. The crackling. Every now and then during a performance, it would crackle or pop. I troubleshooted all of my other equipment, brand new chords, tried different instruments, different amps, but still the crackling would happen. "Okay, I'll ignore this", I thought.But THEN... After more hours of practicing my performance with it, I realized the FATAL FLAW of this unit that was absolutely unforgivable. Since I was using this unit for both guitar and vocals on the effects loop of my mixer, I noticed that every time I hit a high note or got even remotely loud, the pedal would CLIP OUT and produce a horrible BUZZING SOUND. Naturally, I figured I just needed to reduce the input volume and increase the output volume, but nope. No amount of sound fiddling would stop the horrible buzzing. And no, it wasn't me clipping my mic, or that my ACOUSTIC guitar's pickup was set too loud, or that there was too much gain going through my mixer's FX SEND... Trust me, I know what I'm doing. This unit is just garbage, and I really wish I didn't waste so much time with it before having to send it back.

This pedal is excellent quality and value. I play mainly rockabilly music. I currently play through a Fender Pro Jnr. Amp which has no reverb. I bought this pedal to add reverb and its better than the spring reverb or digital reverb you get in other amps. The control knobs actually work in getting you just the right amount of reverb you require. I particularly like the room reverb and have it set just so it adds a little ambience to my sound. The other reverb settings are actually all indivual and do what they say!Overall, in my opinion this pedal is great value for money and compares very well to more expensive reverb pedals (yes, I have tried way more expensive reverb pedals so I am speaking with some experience)I'm not a gigging musician and play for fun. For that purpose this a great pedal.Bottom line, if you want to control the type of reverb you want at a very cheap price I would recommend you checking this pedal out.
