This has been my go to product for many years, but I felt like the formula has recently been improved because my Hair has never been softer and I didn’t trim it after I died it. I left it as is and my hair is substantially softer than it usually is. The color came out perfectly. This has been a reason why my hair is Long. I have avoided chemicals in my air for as long as I can remember and it has kept my hair healthy. This last about a month before I have to redo Greys but it’s still pretty good.

This was my go-to for hair dye for many years. It really does the job and it smells really nice too. The only thing I'd say is it does stain your towels, etc so make sure to use an old towel that you don't need and I check the floors and walls in case it goes on there but it comes off right away and easily when it's on a counter top or a wall.

I’m not really sure where to start so I’ll just say I’ve been dying my own hair for years. I’ve had every color under the sun, but started a new job and had to dye some of my funky colors back to just natural black. I’ve used this hair dye once before, and I wasn’t the biggest fan of the consistency, it’s very liquidy with not a lot to hold it together. The hair dye lasted long enough, and it did cover up my grays. Fast-forward a year, I went to use it again. I’m not sure what happened, if they changed the formula to include PPD or PTD (those I am allergic to, confirmed through an allergy test) as my scalp was furiously itchy, as well as anywhere the hair dye got like behind my ears. I woke up the next morning, and both of my eyes were puffy and almost swollen shut. Really disappointing as the color came out beautiful, my hair feels nice without being dried out or brittle but my scalp itches so badly and my ears are on fire. Had to take tons of antihistamines to carry myself through it and ended up using a dandruff shampoo to get majority of the hair dye out. I developed a bad rash behind my ears where the dye had gotten that lasted two weeks - my fault for scratching them, but even cortisone cream (RX grade) didn’t stop the itch. They ended up scabbing horribly and are just now (a month later) starting to clear up. Be sure to do a swatch test before using this dye - because I had used it once before I assumed I didn’t have to this time but with how materials are changing and companies are cutting products with different additives or formula changes, better safe than sorry.

One box turned my long thick bleached blonde 3C hair pitch black. I even henna / Indigo dyed it twice less than a month prior. The application was harder than typical dye because it’s a thinner consistency and the amount in the box seems like such a small amount to dye an afro of hair but I was just barely able to apply a very thin coating to my whole head with just one box and it still processed great! Just had to really take my time to spread it with my fingers so the amount could cover more. Best of all, I didn’t have sensitivity to the dye. Last time I got my hair colored at the salon I had a horrible reaction. This felt very natural and had no overwhelming odors. Actually smelled nice! It wasn’t damaging to my hair at all. I do think the conditioner that came with it is not the best for 3c hair. Made my hair dryer. After I conditioned my hair with my regular conditioner and used a leave in, it was back to it’s healthy state.

This is my new favorite hair dye!! You do need to make sure that you’ve got a bowl to mix the product in and possibly a comb although I just used the gloves provided. Which was a bit messy! I got product on my cardigan, on my bathroom sink and floor. And for the first time ever, this product easily wipes up without staining your home! The dye even came out of the cardigan completely without staining my other laundry! Also, this doesn’t continue to leak down your face for a couple of days after! Nor does it still run out of your hair when you do your daily shower! I’m absolutely impressed and will be keeping bowls and easy combs in my home to make this my go to hair dye! Also, the color stays!! All of the box dyes at Walmart would rinse out of my hair within three weeks. It’s been three weeks since I dyed my hair and the color is still stunning! The color I choose is perfect, applying is easy , color came very beautifully. I was excited after shampooing and looking in mirror . This color/ hair dye is perfect for those who have no allergies no scalp itching .BUT those who have sensitive scalp and looking for chemical free dye then I don’t recommend as I got bad rash and itching .
