DL-64-RED Portable EVA Hard Drive Carrying Case Pouch, Red

The case is sturdy a shell on the outside and basically a pillow on the inside, both my drives sit comfortable in their respective cases.This is red blood case that will absorb strong impacts that will never reach the actual drive.If anything I have say I was surprised when opening the box out of the mail. The case is BIG, the images illustrating the product in this page DO NOT make justice to the actual size of this case. I wont be sending it back, it is not that important for me, it will take some serious space in my briefcase, specially considering I have two drives and two cases, but it is still within manageable dimensions. Nothing is a lie in the product description, but I am not that a technical visionary to transfer product dimension into a mental image of the projected space it occupies, so an image making a live reference of its size by means of putting the case next to a widely known product like a can of soda or a pen should help other costumers (Maybe I will even upload it myself now!). The trade off for a potential small size case is the REALLY safe enclosure it makes for the drives, I could have gotten just a sleeve, but it would have never absorbed impacts like this thing will. Consider this case kind of one of those briefcases professional hitmen carry their weapons in, it has the soft cushion inside, the hard shell outside and a good amount of free space for good measure, I have a couple of standard sized portable hard drives (toshiba canvio and buffalo ministation) and there is still room for a thumbdrive inside the case.The case IS aesthetically pleasant and GRADE A in quality, greatly built.Check the products images for my size comparison!.

Hello Fellow Weary Consumers,This is a high quality case that I highly recommend. The case consists of hard panels covered in soft neoprene and closed by a very durable zipper. There is a nice pocket on the inside to hold your connector cable. The elastic band on the hard drive side will hold your hard drive down securely.In my case, I purchased the case to contain to my WD 500 GB Passport Hard Drive. The case is actually too big for my hard drive. Although this is not ideal, I will not let it affect my rating, because I knew from the beginning that this case was not designed for my hard drive. I tried to by the Amazon Basics hard drive, which is built specifically for my hard drive, but it was out of stock and would take 2-3 months to arrive...no thanks. So, I bought this case, and to get around the size issue, I just added some Styrofoam to fill up the empty space. Now, my hard drive fits very securely in my brand new hard/soft shell hard drive. I already dropped it once (in the case of course), and I did not even flinch...my hard drive is still in perfect order.Peace,G. Everlast

This Drive Logic DL-64 case has significantly more space than the Case Logic PHDC-1 which is designed for the larger 2.5 inch external HDDs. Its width by height room is too much for smaller drives, so I only recommend this case for the bigger drives.There is an outer pocket and an internal pocket to store wires and such. The compartment for the drive is lined with a thick layer of memory foam meant to absorb shocks from falls. The foam is too thick. This takes up space so the elastic band is more likely to permanently stretch when you are storing thick drives.Other reviewers have mentioned the smaller zipper. Don't worry about it. It's only marginally smaller than the Case Logic PHDC-1, but it's just as sturdy. The Drive Logic case is all black which makes it a little cleaner looking than the Case Logic which is grey inside and black outside.Conclusion: Buy the Case Logic PHDC-1 if you want a more universal fitting case (thick drives recommended). Buy the Drive Logic DL-S4 if you have a wide and tall 2.5 inch hard drive (thick drives not recommended). Buy a Case Logic QHDC-101 if you want a case designed for small external drives like Western Digital's MyPassport.

The quality is great, and it functions very nicelyI would buy this product again
