Does each split output in stereo or does each split outputs in mono?

Does this actually split the channels (like I imagine it is supposed to) or does it split both left and right channels to each side.

This Splitter lets you connect two mini-stereo headphones or speakers to the same port on your device ( ex. iPod, portable cassette, or CD player) offering multiple listening enjoyment to users through one jack.

How about the opposite? Allow an iPod and a computer to be listened to on one headphone set in the office?

Yeah you can listen to both simotenously but it will damage your headset. Tried it on my $100 gaming headset and it only lasted a year and half.
