Best of more than 20 different vacuum insulated thermos bottles ever owned.
I've owned at least 20 different stainless "thermos" bottles by different manufacturers over the last 15+ years and these are definitely the best. The vacuum seal was solid and never went bad on my last one which is the primary reason I've owned so many (the seal goes bad). I left my last one somewhere (2nd reason I've owned so many) after about 2 years of daily use. I dropped it countless times and there were dents all over the bottom. The vacuum seal still worked great and the paint never chipped except where dents were. But the chipping didn't spread which is common, even for Contigo. It's the best design for cold drinks and water. The push-button open design is great. Easy to drink from and nearly impossible to spill. The lock is handy too. The hanging plastic loop is also a nice feature; makes it easier to carry when your hands are full. It keeps drinks cold longer than any other bottle I've owned because the lid screws on over the bottle instead of inside it like many designs, including Contigo. This is where the vast majority of cold/heat is lost if the seal is working properly for any thermos bottle. Other than the top, no other part touches the outside (even through air molecules). So the design of the lid is very important. And this is an ideal design. I can put 4 large ice cubes in it with refrigerator temperature water and still have some ice floating around in it 10 hours later when I get home from work. Just don't lay it on its side or you'll lose all that cold (technically, less heat) through the lid like any design. Pros: *Keeps drinks colder longer than any other design I've owned. *Vacuum seal is sturdy and never went bad (unlike many other bottles, including Contigo) even when dropped countless times. *Feels like good quality too *Easy to drink from *Doesn't leak *Almost impossible to spill *Paint doesn't chip *Easy to carry *Easy to clean and maintain, especially lid *Push-button release works great and doesn't leak or spill *Doesn't hold smell of flavored drinks any longer than any other bottle and only the plastic lid holds the smell which is easy to clean *This is personal preference: No plastic straw you have to suck on, clean, causes heat/cold loss, can leak, and can go bad in countless ways Cons: Only offered in 24oz size. No 20oz or 16oz size. Other than that, it is a superior design to any bottle ever made by any manufacturer. Don't put this bottle in the dishwasher like they say with all stainless thermos bottles. It can cause paint chipping and high heat during drying cycle can destroy the vacuum seal. But the lid is designed to go in dishwasher. I got a 2-pack for $36.98 and one was brushed stainless steel. The other is painted aqua blue. I don't care too much for that color and not very fond of the hot-pink trim lid on the brushed stainless one either (since I'm a guy, but great for girls IMO). So I swapped the lids and got a good looking brushed stainless bottle with a 2nd bottle for the same price as just buying the single brushed stainless by itself. So the price was great too. They're always changing the price on these as of August 2026. So keep waiting and checking for deals. They want $7+ more for the same bottles just a week later.

Two different lid types. One great, one less so.
I really like these bottles. So much so I wanted several to rotate them through the dishwasher (or at least the lids). I started with two of the stainless body, licorice (black/gray) lids. They’re great, and similarly to the Contigo hot/cold mug I have, the mechanism flips open so it can more easily and thoroughly be cleaned (by hand or just better flow in the dishwasher). I’d seen some reviews and pictures showing a different style and complaining about mold. That style had a fixed mechanism and unlike the style that flips open, while in the dishwasher it will stay tightly closed. The flip open mechanism basically means it’s in the “open” position and water can flow through it while it’s being washed. I ordered a few more — one of the two packs was on a great price. I assumed this non-flip style from some reviews was just the older style and the flip one is the new one, but the new light blue “iced aqua” ones I got were the old style. They have the old models mixed in with the new. Looking more closely now at the pictures on Amazon, it does accurately show that it’s the older style if you know what to look for. In addition to what seems to me to be a clearly inferior and more mold prone mechanism, the old style doesn’t have a button lock. You can see in the pictures that some of them don’t. The lid that you can flip over the spout to keep dirt away from it also is a bit smaller. As of this writing, blue corn, dragon fruit, juniper, licorice, pink lemonade, and spirulina are listed and have the new style lid. These colors are also shown on Contigo’s website as colors offered, whereas the other colors listed here on Amazon are not shown on their current product list for “Cortland Chill 2.0.” There is also a Merlot and Lavender color for the new version on Contigo’s site that I don’t yet see on Amazon. Stick with those and avoid the older style. Beyond that, the new style is great. I used to use plastic water cups throughout the day, but my cats would get into it and I'd have to switch to a new one. Or they'd tip it over. With this, I can flip the little dirt cover lid over the spout to keep them from licking it, and while they can still tip it over and it'll make quite a thunk, it seems to seal solid and not leak. Of course it keeps things far colder than a plastic cup too, which is awesome. 24 oz holds a nice amount of water. I'd used my 20 oz Contigo hot/cold mug for water sometimes and it seemed like with ice in it, there wasn't much left for water and I'd have to refill pretty often. The lip is wide enough that I can get ice into it from my through-the-door ice maker. I have quite a few stainless water bottles I got as freebies from conferences with a lid so narrow I have to manually put cubes in one at a time, and even then some cubes are too big. I switched to these to replace those styles, and it's well worth the money just to not need to deal with that annoyance. With my LG through-the-door water, I do have to hold the bottle out a little bit and press the paddle trigger myself -- it's not quite wide enough to align with the water spout if I press the trigger with the bottle. But that's not really hard to do, even one handed, by just sticking one of your fingers out a bit. So far I'm sticking with the plain stainless body, as they say it can go through the dishwasher. I haven't tried that yet, but it's also very easy to wash by hand with a bottle brush. I may just stick with that, but the unpainted stainless probably will hold up better anyway. I do put the lid through the dishwasher, flipped open, as I think that will clean it better than I could manually. All varieties have dishwasher safe lids. The painted bodies are not recommended to go through the dishwasher, but their lids still can.

I highly recommend this brand
I ve been buying Contigo for years they las a long time. When they start getting old the bottom can fall off still leaving it usable if not totally balanced. It holds up for more than a year keeping ice cold upwards of 30-36 hours. I’ve bought this brand over and over and won’t even bother to look at another brand. The colors are nice (exactly as shown) They are easy to clean easy to drink from. As long as the top is on right no leaks.

100% Spill-proof! A+++ Drinkability, The BEST!
A+++++ I absolutely love this water bottle! The 100% spill-proof AUTOSEAL technology is a game changer for me—I simply sip, release, and it seals automatically, so I truly never have to worry about leaks or spills in my bag. This is why I picked up my second Contigo Cortland! The double-wall vacuum insulation is fantastic because it keeps my drinks cold for up to 24 hours and hot for up to 6 hours, which is perfect whether I'm at work, running errands, or on the go. I also appreciate the hygienic spout cover that helps keep dirt and grime away from the drinking area. The secure lock button gives me extra peace of mind by preventing the lid from accidentally popping open. The integrated carry handle makes it incredibly comfortable and convenient to take everywhere, and I love that the lid is top-rack dishwasher safe with an easy-to-clean design. Another big plus is that it's a universal size that always fit in most car cup holders, making it the perfect everyday companion. It's practical, thoughtfully designed, and such a high-quality bottle that makes staying hydrated easy and enjoyable! Great Value for the money! Will last a long time. So durable. This is my 2nd Contigo Cortland. Got in different colors. I hope my review was helpful to you. Have a blessed day!

Perfect for kids & survives multiple drops!
My favorite water bottles! I have bought this set of two Contigo Autoseal water bottles every time I see them go on sale. I only have to replace lost bottles, because they withstand a lot of abuse! I hate washing straws, and like to chug water, so these are perfect. These insulate very well. If you fill it with ice and water in the morning, it will keep the ice frozen with multiple refills of water throughout the day. I live in the desert Southwest, and always have my water bottle with me. The water bottles have been dropped repeatedly on concrete and blacktop, but still work perfectly after years of abuse from myself and my kids. The handles are in perfect condition, the lid on the mouth piece is intact, the top still screws on securely and our water still stays cold all day, even in triple digit temperatures. We can leave the bottle in the car, in direct sunlight, and the water inside stays cold; just be careful to not burn yourself holding the metal exterior that gets super hot! This isn't a concern across most of the US, but in the desert we know the drill, and appreciate having that cold water when we need it. My other favorite quality of these water bottles is that they are dishwasher safe. The entire thing goes into the dishwasher to be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected for continuous daily use. To get the lid completely cleaned, just push open the part inside the lid that closes the spout, and put back the cover that protects the part you put your mouth on. Put the lid face down in the top rack of the dishwasher, and you will never have to scrub the water bottle or lid to keep it clean. The lid also has a locking switch to prevent spills and leaks in backpacks or purses. The lock makes sure the autoseal button cannot be pressed at all. This is The Best waterbottle for kids, in my opinion. They are durable to survive daily abuse, and still work flawlessly. Now, if the kids could just keep track of them...

Doesn’t fit in the cupholder but otherwise great
I got this to use at home mostly and it’s perfect for that. One star off cause you really can’t get it to fit in the cupholder of the average car and I liked it so much I did wanna start taking it around with me so that was disappointing. But it does have a handle on it so you could just carry it around easily if you wanna take it for walks it’s so light even full and it’s an excellent amount of water. Just the right size for hydration. Have not experienced any leakage. It’s easy enough to drink from - although all these spouts are just a little bit weird - less comfortable than just drinking from a water bottle. Keeps the water cold/chilled for a very long time. Love having a metal rather than a plastic flask - gives the water a crisper taste.

Best of the best!
Love this water bottle! Keeps my water cool even through a Florida summer in the jeep! Doesn’t leak, easy to clean. Beautiful color! Tall enough to hold more water but still fits in the cup holders!

My go-to everyday water bottle!
I’m a big fan of the Contigo Autoseal insulated water bottles, I have had many versions of them over the years and I think this last version is the best yet! I use my water bottle every single day and keep it on my nightstand at night too, so this thing is basically with me all the time, getting refilled numerous times throughout each day. I love that it holds 32oz and keeps it well insulated throughout the day. The trigger mechanism is my favorite for using water bottles because I’m not a fan of using straws to drink water. I prefer to tip this bad boy upside down, squeeze that trigger, and let gravity do the rest! This is the biggest reason why I prefer the Contigo Autoseal bottles; there’s something satisfying about simply picking up the water bottle and instantly being able to drink without flipping up straws or latches and then having to flip or close them after I’m done drinking. I’ve had my previous version of the Contigo Autoseal for years and it is still working fine but the bottle has seen some wear & tear so I decided to upgrade it. Here are some of the improvements that are very welcomed compared to the previous version of the Autoseal bottle: 1. The Autoseal mechanism in the lid can now be flipped out to be cleaned…this is a game changer! The old version didn’t allow this and was extremely difficult to try and clean the internal components in the lid. 2. The trigger lock is a great addition and works well especially if the bottle is in a backpack so I don’t have to worry about the trigger accidentally being pressed and water leaking out. 3. The carry handle is improved in a few ways. It now has a metal pin going through it then through the actual mounts on the lid, as well as the mouthpiece cover so it is all securely connected. The old version basically just clipped around 2 plastic pins of the lid with nothing securing either side which lead to me accidentally detaching the handle a few times when I picked up the bottle at a weird angle by the handle. The new handle also has a little lip on the back edge, making it easier to flip up out of the locked position. 4. The new bottle seems to keep my water colder for longer so there may have been an improvement to the insulation materials used in the bottle itself compared to the old version. My only complaint about any of the Contigo 32oz bottles is just the fact that they don’t fit in most standard cupholders (the 24oz versions fit fine but I like having more water in my bottle), I’m used to this and have cupholder extensions in my cars for this very reason. The tradeoff is by having a wider bottom of the bottle, it is less prone to tipping over compared to the bottles that are more top-heavy in their design. Overall, I’m really happy with the updates to this new version of the Contigo Autoseal, especially with the ability to more easily clean the spout mechanism. I also appreciate the locking trigger as well as the updated handle design. Contigo did an excellent job updating my favorite water bottle to make it even better. This bottle will hopefully serve me well for years to come!

Awesome product, great quality
I love this bottle! The first one I received was broken and leaking, but Amazon quickly sent me a replacement bottle and I'm very happy with it, I'm really not disappointed with my purchase :) It's an excellent bottle of water, it doesn't leak at all, the autoseal button is great and the bottle keeps cold for a very long time. I'll take her everywhere with me, I love the color, the carrying hook, she's awesome, I recommend 100%

Best water bottle for the gym
Ice cold water for hours and the lock and trigger to sip option is pleasant. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a solid water bottle. The size is good too! You can fit a full normal sized gatorade into the bottle. I also love the colour!
