I actually bought this inflatable wedge due to the fact that my bed sits in a corner and it’s nearly impossible to get a fitted sheet onto my extremely deep mattress and mattress pad. Now, all I have to do is inflate the wedge and the fitted sheet comes off easily And the clean sheet placed on just as easily. Before I had to reach down and brutally hoisted the corner up with one arm while trying to position it with the other. My actually strained my shoulder on more than one occasion. That being the case, I probably changed my sheets once a month. With this wedge, it’s so easy I’m able to change them every week. Nothing better than sleeping on clean sheets. I can’t speak to it as a lift for those who want to read in bed or sit up for any other purpose, but it seems like it would work fine for that purpose as well. Based on my limited experience.

I purchased the twin size genie to use for an elderly relative that at times needs to be fed or take medicine in a twin bed. It raises up quickly and holds in the position of our choice. When using it at bedtime it stays inflated for the majority if not the entire night. The height can be adjusted quickly and there is a button to just have the air completely released quickly if one wishes to sit on the raised portion of the bed. I use it with a 10/12 inch mattress and it works well. It would be nice for just reading or watching TV in bed or gerd issues.

I had unplanned surgery and finding this came in the end stages of recovery, but wish I had known about and had this sooner. This is such a wonderful idea. Really helps if you are still weak in recovering from an injury or have pain like I did using your midsection to lift up out of bed. This really does the work for you and keeps pain to a minimum (at least in my case). Due to my particular circumstances, I did not get to try this out right away and found that it lost air throughout the night, therefore sinking slowly down to the flat position. I recommend this product, but also highly recommend giving it a good trial run before you need it & before your return window expires. Couple thing to note before deciding: The pump is not extremely loud, but it is disruptive if you have someone sleeping in the room with you & you need to adjust in the middle of the night. We had a hard time deciding on whether to get the twin size just for me or the size to fit our bed. on the one hand, if it only inflates under one person the other person is going to be sleeping on a slant & that person will have to be the one to determine if that is going to hinder their sleep. On the other hand, being under us both means that when one needs/wants to sleep highly elevated the other is required to sleep that same way and may not be able to sleep well. There is a toggle button for more inflation/sleeping elevated & less inflation/more flat. This button is a more gentle rise and lower. nothing jerky or super quick. & there is another "Flat" button. This releases as much air as possible to get you into the flat position. This button does not use the pump in any way. It has an initial loud click, like it is releasing the "stopper" on the plug and then slowly/gently loses air. If you have difficulty lifting your mattress you will definitely need help situating this item. Overall, for what I needed it for I would definitely recommend. As a side note: I sometimes get headaches from laying flat and have in the past tried to makeshift a ramp to help lessen the headache and this has come in handy for that purpose as well. Again, I did not give 5 stars due to the fact that mine loses air during the night.

How very disappointing to find Contour Products does not stand behind their products 100% I realize my return request was outside the 30 day Amazon return policy but it took a few weeks to realize just how much air the Mattress Genie was losing during the night. After having to fill it a few times during the night we realized it was a hassle and definitely too loud for night time refills Unfortunately I landed in the hospital for a few days and thoughts of a return go to the bottom of your list when you have life threatening issues in your going on. This Mattress Genie has been a huge disappointment from the start....a very expensive mistake for seniors just trying to get a better night sleep. I will never recommend this company or this product to anybody. In fact I planned on buying my sister one of these for her birthday in October.....certainly won't now that they won't stand behind their product. May have worked for her since she doesn't have somebody else in bed making her roll around if they happen to get in/out of bed. I would have to give this company 5 THUMBS DOWN for lack of customer care...without even contacting and asking why there is a problem.

This is just perfect. Works great I also got one for my Daughter. She loves it. The price is great and the product is well worth it. Very well made.

Works very well for it's intended purpose, however there seems to be no right/left compartments, and when used by a single person the air goes to the opposite side. And if you use a heated blanket or mattress pad, you don't want to sleep in the middle. Too bad they don't make one for a single bed.

I have severe GERDS. I had been hospitalized for almost 3 months. An occupational therapist recommended this. I find i need to deflate to get out of bed easier then inflate. Easy to install, not any problems with pump or controll and inflate/deflate at least twice a night. I also get comfortable in the middle range inflate for comfort. Really like it. So far...dependable. have had it about 6 weeks.... I never hit send. Now, Jan 26, deflate switch isnt working. Wrote to company and will see what they do. I have til January 31 to send back. I love the lift so hope they come through

I bought this in April 2017 in twin size. It's been sitting inflated in one position for most of that time, in use under a day bed mattress used for napping as I have severe gerd. More recently due to illness it has been used more often being inflated and deflated to different heights. I've had absolutely no problem with it losing air. I will mention I've been very careful to protect the blow up portion where it sits against the wire metal bed frame. I put a piece of cardboard under it and a piece of rug non-slip rubbery mesh on top of the cardboard and under the genie. I guess my one piece of advice otherwise would be that it does make quite a bit of noise inflating so adjusting it during the night if you have a bed partner might become an issue. It essentially sounds like a vacuum. It's only for a few seconds but it could wake a sensitive partner. So just bear in mind you'll want to adjust it up as high as you want before you go to sleep. Adjusting it down is very quiet it just releases the air. Considering the price of the automatic adjustable beds if you're looking for something less expensive and actually even portable (I took it with me on vacation by car and used it in a hotel room) then this is a good purchase.
