Works very well to reject heat
I've used these on a few windows in my house along with the windows on my garage door to reject heat and improve privacy. This film does have a silver reflective color - so you need to make sure that part goes with whatever house decor you have. The film works very well to reduced the heat load. While putting this on the windows (which I recommend doing when the sun isn't shining right through them) you could feel the heat difference once the film was in place. Installation is what it is. It's not difficult, but it's not super easy. The instructions are very clear. You just have to follow them. You will make a bit of a mess with the water/soap mixture as it gets most things pretty wet. Have some towels to dry that up. A super sharp knife is a must. It takes a few days for the water behind the film to evaporate and the view through the film is crystal clear. This is something that you can do DIY, but you have to be patient while doing it. A bad film job (i.e., bubbles) is worse than no film at least visually. Once it's up, it rejects a lot of heat and protects things from UV fading.

Lower Bills, Cooler Rooms, Zero Regrets
The Gila Heat Control Titanium Window Film is one of those upgrades you do not fully appreciate until you see the electric bill drop. I put these on the sun facing windows and the temperature difference was obvious within a day. My AC is no longer crying for mercy, and the rooms stay cooler without turning the place into a cave. There is also a "privacy" improvement - you can't see inside during the day. Installation is DIY friendly if you take your time, and once it is up, it looks clean and professional. The heat reduction is real, the glare drops, and the house feels noticeably more comfortable. Easily one of the best small home improvements I have made. Five stars.

Gila heat control film for storm door
This adhesive film was more difficult to install than the non adhesive film, but using two people and liberal use of the gila spray makes it achievable. It definitely significantly reduced the heat buildup between my south west facing storm door and house door.

Waste of money
This company sells this product under the assumption you are a professional installer. If I could give this zero stars have have it delisted from Amazon, I would, it's that bad and here is why: 1) The liner is not labelled. Meaning, you have no clue what so ever what side the liner is on until you start peeling, which may in fact destroy it. 2) All of the product media shows this being applied inside the window, that is in the house. However, it does NOT NOT NOT work being applied inside because you literally cannot see outside if you do. It's "TITANIUM" sheen view. 3) Contrary to image 8 of the product page, installation Instructions are NOT wound up inside the product, it's on the sleeve of the box and are vague. 4) The $16 Windows Film Application Kit is nothing more than a cheap bottle that broke on the first squeeze filled with Johnson's baby soap and water, a horribly cheap paper towel and parts that can all be found for under $5 total at any dollar store. What they do not tell you about this product is that it is harder than applying a screen protector on your phone. It attracts all hair and dirt to its surface on application and it is absolutely impossible with the given tools to apply without professional grade tools. How do I know that? Because I literally called a professional to come do it who laughed and said anyone who does this on their own with these tools is looking to throw money out the window.

Would recommend
Definitely does the job. Instructions were easy to follow. Make sure you use plenty of application solution or water in my case. This is some sticky stuff otherwise. All in all just a few creases that didn't squeegy out but I did these on the garage windows so that wasn't a big deal to me. I can already tell a reduction in heat in the garage. Would recommend.

Takes patience
TL;DR: Worth it, but follow the instructions and be patient. I initially installed this on the window in our closet because the sun was fading my wife's clothes. It can be a little difficult to work with, especially if you're applying it on a large window. Having someone available to help you is definitely worth it in that case. Make sure you follow the instructions. The brand also sells a solution that you can get to assist with the application. I used soap and water when I did our closet window and the solution when I did our front door. I wouldn't say there was any difference. I can't attest to the heat stuff that it claims, but it definitely blocks some UV rays. From the outside, it looks almost like a mirror finish, hence the "titanium" part I suppose. So, if you're looking for a tinted look from the outside instead of a mirrored look, this isn't the product for you. BUT, after installing it on our closet window and seeing the mirrored look from the outside, I wanted to put this on our front door so that people wouldn't be able to see all the way into our house anymore and it absolutely solved that problem. Someone can be standing right behind the door and you can't see them, so...mission accomplished. You might end up with bubbles still even after squeegeeing the window. If they're small, they'll usually go away over time. Just assume that you're going to be making at least a little mess when you install this, because you do need to wet the surface first and then squeegee it.

It is not super easy to install but I did manage to do it on my own. There is a noticeable heat difference in my living room which is like a fish bowl in the summer heat. I’m ordering another role to do my other windows because the difference is so significant. It does change the brightness of your space so if you already don’t get a lot of daylight it would be very dark. It’s hard to get a crease out once it’s there but it’s workable. I’m impatient and can’t cut a straight line to save my life but I managed to install on my own and it looks good.
