BBK 1718 Cold Air Intake System - Power Plus Series Performance Kit for Ford Mustang 4.6L 2V - Fenderwell Style - Chrome Finish

Bought this for my 1997 Mustang GT as my first mod and it blew me away. It sounds a lot better than the stock intake did, and the performance boost was also substantial. I was able to install it myself in about an hour and a half but I'm sure it could be done faster considering I don't have much experience with doing things like this myself aside from a few smaller things I've done. I don't think I could be any happier with the product. I did have some problems with Idling irregularly in the very beginning but once the car got used to the increased airflow (which took no longer than about 20 minutes max) it idled perfectly and I have yet to have a single issue. The only thing that was difficult for me was getting the filters on because it was difficult to reach under the car to do it, but still it only took me about 10 minutes of laying on the ground to finally get it to connect and clamp it down. All in all this is a great product and is easy to install and isn't too hard on the wallet either.

installed pretty easy . used a grinder to make the hole in the fender a little bigger so the new air cleaner would go through. seemed to make my mustang gt run a little stronger.

This was actually really difficult to install. Where the pipe curves into the fender, it does not angle down towards the pavement. So the filter sits against the inside portion of the fender. It should have a curved 2 way pipe.....

The picture shows an oval filter. I received a round filter. the filter is too big to fit through the hole in the fender so you have to attach the filter from under the car and inside the fenderwell. if you look inside your fenderwell before purchasing, you can see that there really isnt much room for anything right there. the seam where the fender attaches to the car rubs really hard on the filter after installation. i put several layers of heavy duty duct tape on the seam to protect my filter but i feel i will have to replace my filter down the road because of vibrations. If i were to do it again, i would buy a CAI that keeps the filter inside the hood area and has a heat shield. on a positive note. it is shiny and looks nice. It's just a pain to install and I fear how long the filter will last.

Easy to install, did it together with my son, (better with two people) and it improved performance and sound. Looks great under the hood. I would buy this again

Nice outside finish, the inside of the tubing was all rusty when I received it? Thought it was supposed to be stainless steel?
