Running 24/7 for past year, and still going!
The internal fan stopped working on my GE Opal ice maker. Rather than replacing the original fan, I decided to give this a try by attaching it to the outside with magnets. It has been running 24/7 for a year today (11/11/25) and still going strong! I haven’t evening cleaned the dust off of it and it just keeps spinning along. Pleasantly surprised by the quality. Works perfectly for the ice maker on the medium speed.

Decent
I bought 2 of these- one to put on top of my Fios router, that seemed to be running a bit hot, and one to put next to a Surface Pro laptop that I'm using as a Plex server. The fan fits perfectly on top of the Fios router, and it quiet, on low. The other fan I put on medium and sat it on its side, and let it blow across the Surface Pro. It works well and keeps the temperatures down. So why 4 stars? One of the fans started making a weird slight vibration, which made it louder. I couldn't get it to stop, no matter how I propped it up. I had to swap that fan for the one on the Surface Pro; the router is right in the living room, but the Surface Pro is in the basement, where noise doesn't matter as much. One other note- you'll need a USB-C adapter if you plan on using this for a Fios router.

Buy one for every family member
This really is a great product. Especially for the price. It’s a breeze compared to my old setup. Before I came across this gem, I’d been using just a regular old computer fan that I’d yanked from Dianne’s computer and an old camcorder battery I kept from my days working on adult films. It didn’t have any fancy settings or any of this newfangled protection they put into everything nowadays. It was either on or off and if I grabbed it while it was running, I nicked my fingers and that’s just how it was, until I found this product. It’s a little bigger than my old fan, so it fits snuggly into my back pocket, with plenty of cord to reach my new power bank I keep in my other pocket or my satchel, and it keeps the air moving. The HML switch is small enough to fit through my belt loops and with some planning, the cable can easily be strung through my belt loops keeping the switch conveniently placed at my side for easy access. Stringing it through my belt loops also keeps excess cord from being snagged by my flailing arms or those damn doorknobs Dianne insisted we get when we remodeled our home last year. I couldn’t believe how great the HML controller is for quick and easy control of the fan speed. The different speeds are great for a variety of cases. The lowest speed is great for just keeping the air flowing and keeping my pants cool and dry while the highest setting is great for quickly dispersing increasingly pungent smells. And it’s so quiet. Even on the highest setting, the fan remains silent. No more awkward “what’s that humming noise?” questions from people I got with my old fan. If it weren’t for the constant cool breeze, I’d forget it was even there. The grates on both sides are a MUST-HAVE. I thought I would just take them off, but they really do provide great protection on both sides of the fan. I no longer nick my fingers when I remove the fan from my pocket when I forget to turn it off. I haven’t had to put a new bandaid on my finger in days. And no more awkward fidgeting trying to readjust the fan in the heat of the moment after it’s become snagged on the pocket lining. My old fan constantly got caught up on my pocket lining. But the grate keeps the lining away from the fan blades no matter what. And the grate is strudy, too. Only the one time have I managed to depress it far enough that it came into contact with the fan. But, that was only because I accidentally sat down on the metal bleachers at Mathew’s baseball game with it still running in my pocket. But, even then, the grate bounced right back and didn’t bend at all. It’s still as straight as a rabbit’s ear on the Fourth of July. I’d recommend this product to anyone looking for a pocket fan. I like it so much, I’ve already purchased one for work, one to keep in my pickup, one to keep in Dianne’s car, and even one for David because I know he’ll just love it. There’s nothing better than having a cool crevasse in the heat of summer, being able to disperse those wrank bouts of gas after Dianne’s world famous enchiladas, and warm apple pie. Just the other day, Dianne and I were grocery shopping. I let one slip in the produce section down there at the Walmarts. I flipped the switch to high and in a matter of seconds, it was a row over. The poor girl stacking the carrots started gagging because she thought some of her produce had gone bad. But no one looked at me for a change.

Good cheap fan for home lab setup
This is exactly what I needed for my miniature home lab setup. It easily attached to my 3D printed “server rack” and provides the airflow I needed. It’s not the fastest fan, but has good speed and airflow for the 5V of power is consumes.

Works great!
Excellent! Fan speed control works great.

Good for what I am using it for
If you're looking for a fan that has a decent wind strength where it blows enough air, this is not it (it is very weak if you want something for that, even in the highest setting the wind is weak). But for cooling it does the job. I prefer it a lot and fits just my needs as the wind isn't too strong but it cools really well. Planned on using it as a temporary cooling for my pc as the top fan broke, but maybe I'll use it for a bit unless if I move my pc where it is visible (currently under my desk). I have it on the highest setting, my pc is not hot anymore. Another great thing is that this fan is super quiet, I don't even notice it's on. Maybe if you have it somewhere near you or in a very quiet room you may hear it, but it's not noisy.

Works ok. Doesn't push out as much CFM as I expected. No static pressure.
Overall this works well. The USB power is convenient for my project and a 120mm fan definitely pushes more CFM for less noise versus an 80mm. The noise level is very reasonable, though on medium or high (which you probably need) it's still a very noticeable noise. Even on high I don't think it's going to bother you unless it's almost right next to your ear (and even then it wouldn't be painful, just an irritant.) I really don't think the CFM rating is accurate though. On low I barely feel much of anything, and medium and high still seem significantly less than the > 50 rating they gave it. I don't have any tools for measuring though so can't give exact numbers. My bet is that the high is somewhere in the lower 40s (guesstimating based on other fans in that range maybe around 44?) and the low in the 30s somewhere. This probably shouldn't really come as a surprise given the RPM and noise levels (and in retrospect I should have known better than to expect 56 from 1500 RPM,) but if you trust the numbers then you may be disappointed I think. This means it doesn't push through the radiator I intended it for as well as I had hoped, but it does still have sufficient airflow to still be quite effective. Now, that said, I'm not sure if any other 5V fans will be any better. It's harder to get good results out of a fan at that voltage range versus 12. I believe it's likely to be fairly typical of this range really. Having a USB connector and speed controller built in is also definitely a huge convenience. Most of the other 5V fans don't offer this convenience. (Some even ship with a molex connector. If you have a power source that provides molex connectors you may as well go ahead and use a standard 12V fan...) Probably you won't really do any better without going up to something significantly more powerful (and power hungry!) and noisy, just don't be fooled by the numbers. EDIT: I've found out that the real problem lies in the fact that I need more static pressure (particularly for the application I'm using it in.) I couldn't find any measurements, but, based on how little it pushes or pulls through a heatsink I can only conclude it's pretty low. If you're just using it in an open area with nothing to slow it down it probably pushes enough CFM to do its job fairly well, but I guess it takes something much more expensive (it looks like the Noctua brand is the best bet) for anything that requires any pressure at all (they have a 5V fan that is probably four or five times what this does in that respect.)

Very happy
good powerful fan. a bit loud, but we run it to keep extra airflow around the xbox. I bought a second one as an exhaust fan for a biltong box and works amazingly for that. 100% would recommend

Great little fan for fanless systems
I bought this for my router. I have a little Intel N100 mini-PC that I use as a router/firewall with OPNsense installed on it. When there was a lot of traffic through my network, the processor would get up to 80c - 84c which is pretty hot, but ever since I got this fan, I haven't seen it go above 70c. It's very quiet and plugs in to USB. I like the switch as well, because you can set it to low, medium, or high. The only downside is that I am unable to actually attach it to the router, so I just have to lay it on top, but it still does the trick.
