Super saver
I’ve fumbled around 2 or 3 drives to save money in the past. Probably lost more time transferring files around to make room on the drives just to save $100. Bought this raid to end the transfer blues. Glad I did. The time saved already is paying dividends. Fast, solid and works great. Now I can use the smaller drives to store files when I’m done with projects on the raid.

The most reliable brand!
I'm a video producer, so I've owned lots of hard drives! I use Mac. This brand is the only one that has never failed. Never missed a beat. Sometimes they've been left on for years. No issues.

So fast. So simple. So badass. I love this drive.
Mine is set up as a RAID1. So I’ve got 6tb of storage with the piece of mind of redundancy. Setup was simple and quick. I was up and running in minutes. The Thunderbolt makes navigating data instantaneous. I rarely notice any delay on my 15” MBPro. I looked at a bunch of alternative RAID drives. This is the one. Totally crushes.

Works on Windows with format, not great documentation
As they say in the promotional material, this is setup to run on Mac native. So for Windows you have to first go in and delete the Mac partitions (Right Click on "This PC" and then select "Manage" and then "Disk Management"). Otherwise you'll loose several Gig as there is a volume that is unassigned by default at the end. You can't delete the first volume (about 200 megs) as it's used by the Disk for housekeeping. Create your new "Simple" Volume for the rest and format, and you should be good. I mention all this because the documentation is designed around the idea you are using this Plug-n-Go on the Mac. In fact, I could not find anything that talks about how to switch to RAID-1 or JBOD mode even though it says it can do so. I needed RAID-0 anyway so this does not inconvenience me, but that and the partitioning are also why I couldn't give this a full five stars.

Drive dead ON FIRST DAY
Paid good money for 12TB (2x 6TB) and had the most horrible waste of time with this thing. - Box/manual comes with ZERO instructions on how to format this for Windows (make sure you're tech savvy if you insist on getting this) - NO direction of where to get the files, I had to watch several Youtube videos (most of them are for Mac) and visit different websites before I could even find their "software" - Took HOURS to set it up, transfer speeds are average at best - IMMEDIATELY after setting up the RAID-1, one of the drives ALREADY shows A RED LIGHT, indicating that's it's FAILED. Yes, a brand new product which I paid $700 is DEAD on the FIRST DAY of use.

Exactly as Advertised; Perfection
Not sure what the negative reviews are about. The drive is pretty, silent, daisy-chains my Thunderbolt SSD etc, and I've had zero issues with RAID or anything on Mac OS X. I most freakquently use it for my expansive 4K adult film collection, tbh. It's performed fabulously and I no longer have to sort and shake multiple hard drives that always ended up corrupted thanks to the rustle and bustle of an unholy collection divided amongst multiple drives. The daisy-chaining comes in handy when doing music work in Pro Tools; I get an extra TB3 port without having to penetrate my MacBook Pro's other ports. Should've bought this device or something like it a decade ago. This paired with a Thunderbolt 4 hub is a killer combo - if my collection needs to join me in my living room I just run my fiber optic TB3 cable. Even 4K videos load quickly - no need for a giant super expensive SSD or a choppy inconsistent NAS. Don't believe the bad reviews, likely a bad device or thupid user error, imho. 69 stars out of 10. I'll eventually upgrade my disks to SSDs, but honestly I don't really need to given the systems exemplary performance thus far. The Space Gray color is a totally unnecessary, but completely mesmerizing and eerily perfect match to all my Apple products. Couldn't have dreamed up a better MacBook Pro companion for anyone with a huge video collection for someone like me without the patience to deal with the Cloud, NAS glitches, SOFTRaid (so lame), or non-Raid drives.
