ESR for MagSafe Car Mount Charger with CryoBoost Cooling for iPhone 17-12

This is the best magsafe phone car mount and charger in my opinion. It ensures your phone will not overheat during charging and the magnet is strong enough to hold your phone in place while driving even through bumpy roads. I haven’t tried off roading but i have driven through a gravel road and my phone has not fallen off. This version is 7.5 watts and there is a 15 watts version but that costs three times more so i got this one because you get more value for your money. It is easy to install whether you use the adhesive stand and the vent stand. My wife wanted to try it so i installed it in her car and now she doesn’t want to give it back and i just bought another one haha. It is not heavy and fits most car vents as it fit both my car and my wife’s. The build seems sturdy and i don’t think it’s going to break anytime soon. I was worried the fan might be loud but i don’t seem to hear it even if i don’t play music in the car. I highly recommend this for people who don’t want to bother with setting up your phone and messing with wires every time you get in the car. It made my trips so much easier and convenient; i just place my phone on top of it, it snaps in place and charging starts right away.

To give you more information, I have this mounted in a 2011 BMW 328i sedan. The power supply plug I am using is 18v, Using the provided USB A to USB C cable provided. The screen shots were taken from an IPhone 12 Pro Max in an Official Apple Silicone MagSafe case. The screen shots were taken right before and right after my commute to work. Note the times: 8:01am (at 43%)- 8:31am (at 57%) In a span of 30 min, my phone charged a total of 14% (43%-57%) no apps were running at the time of this charge. This gives you an idea of how fast this device charges. I have never had a car wireless charger before so I have nothing to compare the charge time with unless I compare it to the official Apple MagSafe charger. Regardless it works At first I was a bit concerned that this will stick my phone out too much away from the dash but in reality it is in a great position. I don’t have to over extend to access my phone nor is it in the way. It held my phone well and I have absolutely no worries of my phone falling. As well absolutely love the look of that LED ring. The noise of the fan goes unnoticed due to regular road noise and if you are listening to music. As far as I am concerned, the fan does it’s job to attempt to cool your phone off while charging. I will start by letting you know what I have for equipment: Pixel 7 Pro, a Moment Magsafe case, and a OhSnap! 3.0 holding device (like a Magsafe compatible pop socket). I've told you all of that to tell you that I have not been able to get this device to consistently charge my phone and I really wanted this to work. I first tried it with the case alone . The phone snapped right into place and it indicated that it was charging but then it would indicate that it wasn't and this continued to happen intermittently, but with great regularity . Then I put the OhSnap device on the phone. It too snapped right into place and the same thing happened. I even went as far as to order another Halolock to see if it was just a faulty device...it wasn't, the same thing happened. I've since gotten a similar, but different device that works with my set up. I'm willing to give the ESR Halolock with Cryoboost the benefit of the doubt and say it just wasn't able to play well with my set up. This is a really nice charger. It's super sturdy. The magnets firmly connect it to the phone. The vent clip is the best I've ever used and easy to place. It's really well designed and holds the phone firmly in place. . The fan blowing is barely audible. While I'm talking about the fan, I'll say it's an interesting concept and was partly responsible for me buying it to begin with, but I'm not sure it has any real benefit. It doesn't seem strong enough to keep the phone from heating up. If it worked with my set up, I probably would have kept it despite my disbelief in the cooling effect. That said, I'm not at all disappointed that my new magnetic car charger doesn't have "cryoboost". Despite the fact that I couldn't get this to reliably charge my phone, I think due to some incompatibility between the Halolock and my Moment case, I would recommend it...which is saying a lot, all things considered!

This mount is awesome! I’ve had it for a little over a year with no problems. It’s super sturdy and the magnets are really strong and my phone had never fell off. It charges the phone really fast, and cools it down at the same time with the embedded fan. A few weeks ago the screw that holds it in place to the mount broke. I reached out to customer support to see if I could buy the screw from them, and they sent me a new vent clip within a few days. ESR’s customer support is fantastic, and a pleasure to work with! I highly recommend this mount along with their MagSafe cases!

I like the idea of the Cryoboost fan, as my phone does often overheat in the sun. And the MagSafe magnet is quite strong. Unfortunately the way it mounts on the vent fins is not stable at all. Clipping it in as shown in the instructions doesn’t provide enough bracing to support the weight of the phone, and the magnet is actually so strong, that pulling on the phone pulls the whole unit off the vent. It's a shame they've attached a quality charger to a terrible mount that doesn't work at all. Lucky for me, I was replacing an old iOttie dash suction mount, and the pivot balls were identical size. So I threw the lousy ESR vent mount in the trash and can now enjoy MagSafe+Cryoboost with the much more stable iOttie suction base. Edit: mfr reached out to me and gave me a free version of their new MagSafe mount that doesn’t include any charging functionality. I gotta say, that one is much more stable of a design for a vent mount. But it still doesn’t come with this charging mount, and I couldn’t in good conscience tell anyone to go buy both, when in reality, they should just be including the better mount with the cryoboost charger in the first place. In some ways knowing that they’ve designed something better but didn’t include it with this product makes it even more annoying. So the overall findings of my original 3-star review stand until they include a better quality mount with it.

In the past couple of years, I have purchased several magnetic chargers for the car. They have ranged from cup holder ones, to vent Mount, windshield and CD player ones. The convenience of having the cell phone mount at almost eye level was extremely helpful and safe. This ESR magnetic halolock with cryoboost mount is a pleasure to use. The magnets on this paired with the iPhone magsafe is very sturdy. There is no shaking or slow slide of the phone off the mount (with potholes or rough pavement). The mount has blue led lights that illuminate and the numerous vents which emit air when the fan is active. It does not have a cooling or heating function. It circulates the air temperature within the car towards the rear of the phone. Assuming the climate control is utilized in the car to be comfortable (heat/ac) then that is what will be circulated through the mount. When the fan is active, you will hear it when parked and no sound (somewhat like a fly). It is not obtrusive but it is noticeable. It is a trade off in order to keep your phone from overheating or freezing (summer/winter). In a vehicle with no Apple CarPlay, this thing is a no brainer. For those with Apple CarPlay, you cannot charge it wireless. The iPHONE must be connected to the USB port for CarPlay to work (unless you have wireless CarPlay). Therefore, this will be more of a magnetic mount rather than a charger. Either way, my preference is to have the phone mounted rather than placed in an awkward location while it is connected to CarPlay. To sum up, it is great for cars with no Apple CarPlay or a front passenger to use for their own phone (ex. Road trip or heavy traffic). I can see this mounts potential if they had additional accessories such as a headrest attachment for back seat (kids in car) or to mount on a bicycle with a Velcro pouch to hold a portable charger. Compared to most cell phone accessories on Amazon, ESR has produced products that are of higher quality at reasonable prices. The iPhone case I am using is an ESR case with MagSafe.

I am in Arizona, and I love that this keeps my phone cool! I have recommended this to my family members. It holds my phone steady, and I can move it to wherever I'd like my phone to be. Great value for magsafe phones.

Installalled HaloLock Wireless charger directly on my dashboard without problem, because I felt that installing it on the vent would defeat the very purpose of the built-in fan : I live in a cold country and my car heater is on 8 months a year ... That said, this charger works like a charm ! Solid magnet contact with my (rather heavy) iPhone 15 Pro Max, very silent charger fan, and quick and efficient charging makes this product a top-of-the-line device.

Product looks and feels premium. It holds my iPhone 14 pro max just fine (with a thin plastic non-magnetic cover). I like the cooling fan the most but the sound it produces is a little bit loud especially when not driving. Charging speed is quite fast comparing to other wireless car chargers I owned. I don’t personally like this type of clips that holds the charger so I replaced it with an adjustable hook holder from my previous holder and it surprisingly fits well!!
