I would like to say my phone did only over heat when streaming to an iPad at the same time as being used as a sat nav and charging. This generates a lot of heat that the fan seems to dissipate well. My phone is only the iPhone 12 mini but it is very secure, can see no reason why any compatible device would ever fall off. It’s size compared to the phone can be seen in the photo with my case attached. For obvious reasons I couldn’t photograph the phone on it. All in all very happy. Good quality and very convenient.
