My doves love it.

I live in the city and have a basement window that is at sidewalk level. The cats love to sit in the window watching the world go by, unless the world involves a person that gets too close, has a siren or is a street sweeper. But one of the things in the world the do like when it gets close are the evil city birds. Once i noticed that the cats were freaking out over the birds various tricks to attract them. I threw bread out for them, which kind of worked, I used a different type of seed which they kind of liked but only attracted sparrows or mourning doves. Well ever since I got this stuff it is like bird central out there. Every sparrow in the city is hanging out wanting breakfast and they bring all of their pigeon and dove friends with them. It is like a scene out of a Hitchcock movie. Alas i think it may be too many birds for the cats. They seem to be suffering from bird overload. They are not sure if they should watch them, lunge at them, quiver in excitement until they explode or just take a nap and ignore them. Either way it has gotten the cats to come hang out in the basement with me while I work which in turn has made them much more social. So if you want to attract every ground feeding bird in the city, this stuff is for you. If you have cats, that like birds, this stuff is for you. If you like eating handfuls of bird seed, this stuff may be for you, it looks like quality bird seed.

Initially I gave a one star review because Dove would not eat it and the feeder was full for over a week. However, it looks like they realized that they can eat it and now every morning I have a gang of doves waiting for me to put this mix.

I bought this seed to treat the local doves that visited my backyard like clockwork every day. I figured I’d roll out the red carpet and give them a five-star dining experience. The day I put the seed out, they perched on the fence, stared at it like I served them stale trail mix, looked personally offended, and then flew off in silent judgment. That was a few days ago. They haven’t been back since. Apparently, my neighborhood birds are bougie and expect organic, gluten-free, artisan seed blends hand-harvested by woodland elves. One star from the birds. Five stars for comedy.
