WaterDam Swimming Ear Plugs Great Waterproof Ultra Comfy Earplugs Prevent Swimmer's Ear

My 3.5yo HATES getting her hair washed. She screams that the water hurts her ears (but has absolutely no issue swimming in the pool, completely under the water). We think she doesn't like the "trickle" sensation of the water on her head and in her ears, so I wanted to try blocking them with these. Worked amazing. Such a relief to not wash the hair of an actively bucking bronco. The 1a size fit great (toddler on the smaller side of the chart).

They are very good. Easy to fit. Just make sure to put it nicely inside. Sometime coming out if not fit properly.

This product is life changing. I'm allergic to just about everything, so my sinuses are always inflamed, making me especially prone to sinus infections. I have had cases of "swimmer's ear" just from regular shower use! Because of this, I've really struggled to enjoy swimming like I did when I was younger, because the risk of getting water in my ears was a very real deterrent. I tested out my ear plugs today, and I was able to float for the first time in my life, because I could lie comfortably on my back, my ears completely submerged, and no water got in. Several laps back and forth across the pool, and still no leaks. I am completely sold. Now, on to some additional pros, cons, and other helpful info. PROS: - These actually keep the water out! Completely! I am amazed!! - The case that the ear plugs come in is absolutely top-notch. The plugs sit on a stand that keeps them from getting damaged and also helps them air out, as well as clearly labeling which plug is for the left ear and which is for the right ear. - The pack comes in a pair of two different sizes, for those who are unsure of fit, and/or for those trying to fit different family members. CONS: - The ear plugs had to go extremely deep into my ears to get the right fit. (There are instructions in the box explaining that you can test for proper fit by slightly pulling the plug to feel for suction. If the suction is present, there is a true seal.) Because of this, I felt a little nervous I might push the plugs in too far, and it also made them a little more tedious to pull out. - The nature of the design makes the fit a little tough to get right for people with certain ear piercings. I have a daith piercing in my left ear, and a tragus and rook in my right ear, so the jewelry got in the way a bit. (That said, the plug still worked effectively!) Other thoughts to consider: - These plugs greatly limited my hearing, which isn't a surprise, but is something worth noting. Coming from someone who works in an industrial environment, these worked better than most of my single hearing protection used for work! This is great for someone not using these for swimming. In the swimming environment, however, especially as a mom with two kids, I really wish I could hear a little better, for the sake of swim safety. - Having worked as a welder, I have used MANY earplugs, and most were always too big and really hurt my ears. It always feels like ear plugs simply aren't made for women. I bought the pack of plugs that had the Size 2 and Size 3. The Size 3 is meant for adults, but the Size 2 is also listed as being for adults "with small ears". The Size 2 was perfect. Ladies, try the Size 2. (I'm giving the Size 3 to my husband.) If you're on the edge, just buy them. You will not regret it!

My boys wore putty buddies for years with the head band. They are older now and dont like the headband. These work great. They stayed in and didnt let water in! Id buy again!

We’ve tried the gummy-style swimming ear plugs before, and overall I prefer these WaterDam ear plugs. They stay in better than the gummy ones, but they are definitely not foolproof. They still occasionally fall out on their own while swimming, and if you have a toddler who likes to pull them out, your odds of keeping a complete set go down even further! In fact, if you’re buying these for a toddler, I would plan on bringing an entire 3-pack for a single lake trip because YOU WILL LOSE THEM. Somehow, we managed to lose only right ear plugs. Since the left and right plugs are different and can’t be mixed and matched, we came home with several lonely left ears. My other complaint is the instructions. The instructions included with the product aren’t very helpful. There are better instructions available online, but when you’re standing at the lake trying to put them in, you may not have good enough service to pull those up. I really wish the more detailed instructions were included in the package. The case for these is nice - as they would easily get lost in your pool/lake bag with out them. Plus, it keeps them nice and dry which is important for this product. Despite those frustrations, these have worked better for us than gummy ear plugs, which tended to fall out even more frequently. I’d buy them again, because we absolutely need them for our daughter with ear tubes. But I’d go into it knowing that you will lose some —and I’d absolutely pack plenty of extras.

My son loves to go under water but unfortunately he had frequent ear infections. Even after having ear-tubes playing in the pool for a long time resulted in visits at the pediatrician and antibiotics. We realized he hesitated to go in the pool because he feared the ear ache later. We tried other ear plugs that came with the goggles but in average they lasted 2 minutes in his ears and we spent more time looking for them than with actual fun. This thing has not come out of his ears once. In the past 3 weeks he spent at least an hour each day in the pool like a little fish and no ear ache in sight. He does not complain about how it feels, it does not bother him. We are very grateful for this product.

Ordered the 1+1a for our 23 month old. The 1A was perfect for her. She was able to float around at the lake and splash around. Only had to readjust a few times but they definitely worked better than the silicone ball ones you have to jam in their ear. Definitely worth the $13 for them. And if they fall out, they float!

Multiple sizes which help, stay put, easy to use and very effective.

Once we found the right size these worked well in protecting the ear from water during swimming. This was necessary following grommet surgery. Used in conjunction with a headband which may have helped keep them in. Better than the moldable ones. Used multiple times and have lasted well.

I can now enjoy my swimming without getting water logged ears. These earplugs come in a neat little carry case, are easy to fit and remove and keep that pesky sea and pool water out of my ears. Highly recommended.
