KGUARD Security QRC-601 Wireless Cube IP Camera, 1080P, Black

Like most KGUARD items, this is actually decent hardware completely held back by poor software. There are a half-dozen different apps for KGUARD cameras, so unless you buy the exact same camera you’ll likely have to use totally different apps for them, which is rather annoying, particularly annoying because I know it doens’t have to be this way. When I first got the camera, I connected it to the KViewQR app which we use for our PTZ KGUARD camera by connecting via WiFi to the camera and punching in the DID, and was able to get it working that way with only a few minor issues. The problem was, the camera itself wasn’t connected to the router WiFi, so the only way to view it was to give up our internet access WiFi to use the Camera’s access point (which means no internet for that device). So, went ahead and downloaded the correct app (which, btw has been discontinued for Android and my device won’t let me download as its incompatible with newer Android versions, so I had to download the iOS app on my iPad), set it up properly and updated the firmware, hoping by connecting it to our WiFi it would work as I wanted with the KViewQR app. However, once updated the default password to connect to the camera was changed and I tried all sorts of different ones, I’m assuming it has to do with the QR app only allowing a pass and won’t let you set a user name.So, if you get this camera, know that while it has fairly decent image quality and is a great price, you can’t use it with any newer Android device, the software for it is pretty mediocre, you can’t turn off the IR LEDs (you can put black tape if putting against a window, but you’ll have to cut out the hole for the day/night sensor or else it will forever be black and white), and likely won’t be supported long-term in any way (I’m sure the iOS app will eventually not work as well), nor is it likely compatible with whatever other KGUARD camera you already have.Really wish the company would stick with one app for its products, and provide at least some support for their products. It’s a shame because most of the apps are like 80% to where they should be, they just need someone to go in and improve some aspects, and then their products would dominate the markets because their hardware is a pretty darn good value, but if you can’t get it to work because of bad software it really doesn’t do people a whole lot of good.

Is the second I buy from this brand. Really like. But, I had to download another app, I couldn't add this black to the KViewCam app.As I bought to use in the room, at night it draws attention because it has many lights.
