A must have
This block of wood is not only crafted really well but actually holds up to spills and messes very easily, the finish they used is very nice and makes cleaning the board very easy and stress free. I use this board to support my huge 200 pound crested gecko cage (not exactly the use its meant for) however over the 2 years that it had been used as a cage mount, its done a phenomenal job and has not let me down at all. Like i said again a very good board and will buy again 8 ^ D

Best cutting board I own
Super easy to clean and fantastic quality. Doesn’t dull my knives as quick and the care for this board is simple and easy. Definitely purchase the boos mystery oil and cream. I apply about once a month and my board has held up fantastically. It’s gorgeous in my kitchen too which is a plus and the size fits on my prep station perfectly.

Over the Moon!
I was a little nervous about buying these to use as study room table tops since the seller’s photos weren’t the best. I took a leap of faith and I‘m just over the moon with the color and quality. The wood grain has a high-end look, soft to the touch (no sharp edges), and the color is beautifully rich from light-to-dark brown. I’d buy these again!

Very poor quality - I‘M not picky, see photos
For the overall ratings, I expected something more… I should have read the reviews. There are cracks, missing pieces of wood, sawdust in the gaps, a weird glue epoxy in one large gap, cracks, etc. see photos. Both sides have significant cosmetic problems but one side is clearly worse. I assume now this is intended to be a one-sided block. Either way, I was disappointed in the craftsmanship of this board… I bought a solid wood board that was less than a third of the price of this board with far better quality. Be prepared to return it after you get it—maybe I just got a serious dud… thank goodness for Amazon’s return policy; Id have been furious to be stuck with this low-low quality board.

This is amazing counter material at an amazing price
This is amazing counter material at an amazing price. Be prepared for pleasing variability in color and texture. There will be an occasional light section of sap wood. But walnut sap wood's characteristics exceed most other wood's heartwood and it adds texture, so this is actually a nice feature. If you want to cut on this, FWIW, I have used walnut cutting boards for years. They are superior to anything else. They preserve your knife edges. They don't require any maintenance beyond the occasional slathering on of walnut oil. Thats right, walnut oil. Buy it in the oil sectional the grocer store. It's edible and far better than mineral oil for conditioning and maintaining naked walnut surfaces. Leave it on an hour or two and then wipe it off. If you use this as a cutting surface, be prepared for gradual erosion. If you don't cut on it, it will last indefiniately with only occasional walnut oil treatment. This is truly a wonderful material.

LOVE it. And saved money with the used one.
Bought this for our kitchen remodel. I was skeptical, I won’t lie, especially about buying the used one. However, I figured it was worth a shot to save almost $75. It arrived on time and is in perfect condition. I honestly can’t tell it’s been used, maybe open box, but definitely not used. Was easy to install and looks great. I can’t wait to use it! The pictures show it being oiled but you get the jist!

It warped despite all my efforts, so I couldn't keep it - even though I loved it at first
Got the 30" square board. Loved it at first. Not good however - It warped, and eventually developed a crack within a month so I had to return it. At first I loved it, the color of the maple was gorgeous, daily applications of mineral oil seemed to be doing it wonderfully and making the grain show up very clearly. The wood was gorgeous, the way that cuts and marks showed up seemed very organic. But despite a lot of attention - reversing it (even though the underside was not as well finished) and lots of oiling didn't do the trick. Maybe the humidity in my house is too low, maybe despite tons of effort it just wasn't enough. But in the end it was basically non-functional as a cutting board -- the warping (got a little over 1/2" off true - when placed with the edges that had bowed up on the counter, the middle was 1/2" off the counter). I'm trying end grain teak now - hard to find one as sizeable, but I'll give it a shot and see how it goes.
