I'd like to keep a 5-gallon bucket under there.** A: I don’t believe it can….however you may be able to remove the supports and reattach them to a different height. Also, beware … the instructions for this unit are not written well and the pieces aren’t lettered or numbered. My unit was missing a bottom support for the lower shelf. I ended up modifying it myself and getting a partial credit… **Q: How deep is the top shelf?** A: Approx 5.7" inches **Q: How tall is the work surface?** A: From the floor to the top of the work surface in 34.5 inches. It's not super sturdy but I'm not rough on things. I am going to add a coat of paint to help seal it better and to help it withstand the weather longer.
