blu-ray unit and nice 40" led tv were just sitting around
Well I have been putting the fifth wheeler to bed for the winter and though, HEY, my mobile tail gater/dish network system, my old yamaha receiver (stored away), blu-ray unit and nice 40" led tv were just sitting around, why not build a "man garage" when the weather goes south and I need a place for smoking cigars?????. All I needed was SPEAKERS!!! I am an audio nut which is why my theater room is nothing but Klipsch reference GOLD. I spent more for my center channel speaker than most would for an entire system. I read the 3 reviews and was impressed. Speakers are those touchy things that are difficult to buy on-line. You just can't put sound quality to your ears in a spec,,, for speakers.I know they put numbers out but for speakers, this is absolute meaningless. Anyway, got started on moving all the components into the garage. It is important to others to know this info cause the hookup is not true DIGITAL output cause the receiver is so old (8 years) that there are no HDMI direct feeds, so I used the tv's HDMI to hook up the dish and the dvd unit. Took the analog tv outputs to the receiver and ran the speaker wires. Once hooked, I went to one of the dish music channels and fired it up, the sound was just as others posted- actually to say better but incredible!!!! And this was at low volume! These could blast you out of my 3 car garage. I mounted them with a swivel bracket 7 ft off the ground. I was ready to bring my sub down if needed but these just filled the entire range perfectly. Highs are absolutely crisp, with no overwhelming mid range. On a low setting, these just came across with the perfect touch........and for $65 bucks??? I may just buy another pair to stick away cause there is no way these are going to stay at this price. And all this incredible sound from an analog feed..really want to thank the other posters for giving me a less than concerned buy as they may of experienced. The wood is a "mylar" wood grain of dark mahogany finish, for this price- it's not solid wood. The base has 4 large black rubber feet so the can sit on any surface to protect it and remove any speaker movement. The grill is a nice finish with enough grill openings to allow you to see the aluminum tweeter finish... but the sound,,, impressive.Note- the garage floor has a roll down pvc flooring, it is not exposed cement, I am not sure if this caused any changes but straight concrete alone is not the best for speakers and sound reflection.

Good Good Speakers, and for a Decent Price
I risked it and I bought these speakers. At the time, they only had 2 reviews, but they were both 5-star reviews. Anyway, they're actually decent speakers with metal tweeters. They're not painted. As far as I can tell, these are also solid wood construction, which is something you *cannot* find in this price range. When you get the speakers, don't freak out. The box is covered in a terrible attempt to translate Chinese to English. Actually, it's rather amusing. Regardless, these speakers are of excellent quality. Highs and mids are are very crisp, and these speakers push out bass fairly clearly as well, to the point that you don't *really* need a subwoofer, much less a woofer. Unless you're an audiophile, that is, which I am not. Obviously, since these are bookshelf speakers, you'll need a pre-amp or a receiver to make them function properly. But these speakers perform extremely well; I would highly recommend them if you're in a strict budget.

Surprised at how good they are!!!
I was a little nervous to get these speakers because I had never heard of "Polocko" before. I figured, at this price I'd give them a try. Oh boy, am I glad I did! I have these hooked up to the Lepai LP-2020A+ amp and they are a perfect match for each other! I'm no audiophile, but I do know good sound when I hear it, and I really like these speakers a lot! They have crisp treble and enough bass to make you happy. Now, if you're looking to knock the roof off a house or break windows with bass, these are not for you. These are just a nice sounding pair of speakers at an incredible value. If you need a pair of bookshelf speakers to hook up to a Lepai or any other amp, you will be pleasantly surprised by these Polocko speakers. I know I was!

Very pleased in every way.
I'm a former DJ and record producer. So I was looking for a pair of small but good sounding speakers. First let me say, these speakers are beautiful crafted. And then I hooked them up to my Poineer elite AV receiver. And I was very pleased of what I heard they have a very tight sound. So I pushed them. No distortion nice and clear sound. So I'm using them now as satelites for my surround system on top of my Sanus 31" speaker stands. I will recommend these speakers to my friends. For that price you can't go wrong.
