There are several different options available for this as it depends on the engine size. We would need the engine size of the vehicle for a correct lookup. Thanks for the inquiry. **Q: How many degrees does this fully open?** A: The MotoRad 420-180 thermostat will begin opening at 180 degrees & will be fully open at 194 degrees. Thanks for the inquiry. **Q: Fit on Dodge nitro 2009?** A: The 420-180 thermostat is the correct style but is an alternate temperature to the OE. The direct OE replacement thermostat is the 420-195. Thanks for the inquiry. **Q: Is there a failsafe version of this for a 2011 ram 1500 4.7l in the 180*** A: Unfortunately the Fail Safe is only in the 195°. We do not offer one yet in a 180° version. Sorry. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It's working!! *by J***H on September 26, 2025* Good part. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ MotoRad Thermostat *by K***R on February 9, 2026* Purchased for a friend, perfect fit and working perfectly ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Kept my 2004 Dodge 1500 4.7L engine running cool in the desert weather *by K***K on August 1, 2019* I recently replaced my water pump and installed this thermostat in anticipation of a road trip through hot desert weather. I noticed my engine runs a lot cooler, just in time for summer weather. During my road trip through Arizona, New Mexico hot weather, I would take naps at rest stops in 114 degree weather during the day with the AC on and engine idling. Engine temperature kept running very cool not going above the 195 degree limit. Again, this is in 114 HOT DESERT WEATHER. No way I was able to do that with the previous thermostat rated at 195 degree temperature, engine idle would overheat. I did notice my miles per gallon rating changed from 13.6 to 13.2, so engine might use a little more gas since the computer will try to keep engine at 195 degree temperature as programmed. I still find this thermostat worth it since the area where I live has too many up hills that will stress my 2004 Dodge engine. I recommend this thermostat ONLY in HOT weather areas of the country. ## Frequently Bought Together - MotoRad 420-180 Thermostat - Jeep Liberty (02-13) Grand Cherokee (99-10) Commander (06-10), Dodge Ram 1500 (02-10) Dakota (00-12) Durango (00-09) Nitro (07-11), Ram 1500 (11-13) - Water Pump with Gasket 1204350 AW7163 Replacement For Commander Dodge Ram 1500 Dakota Durango Replacement For Grand Cherokee Liberty Chrysler Aspen Replacement For Mitsubishi Raider 3.7L V6 4.7L V8 - Dorman 902-3312 Engine Coolant Thermostat Housing Assembly Compatible with Select Models --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.sn/products/42824311-420-180-thermostat-jeep-liberty-02-13-grand-cherokee-99](https://www.desertcart.sn/products/42824311-420-180-thermostat-jeep-liberty-02-13-grand-cherokee-99) --- *Product available on Desertcart Senegal* *Store origin: SN* *Last updated: 2026-10-28*
