Bad reviews are from people who dont know what koyadofu is. This is FREEZE DRIED. It comes to you completely dehydrated like a new kitchen sponge. The broth is slightly sweet with a nice salty umami. The longer you cook the tofu, the less "chewy" it gets. I like this product/packaging because the tofu is bite-sized. The best way to cook: in a shallow pan, heat water with dashi broth until dashi is dissolved. Add tofu cubes. After about 20 seconds, flip the tofu over so it gets hydrated on both sides. Turn heat to low, pour a beaten egg over the top and cover with lid, let the egg steam for a minute or two, then serve. You can add spinach (or other leafy greens), mushrooms, shredded carrots, etc while the tofu is steaming. This is a nice vegetarian dish that feels "meaty" and satisfying.

This is very easy to cook and taste so well.

Freeze dried tofu no matter what you did it turned out like dried sponges the texture was awful and it was useless. Not like the soup packets you can buy with the tofu already in them. Big big big disappointment threw in the garbage waste of the other ingredients.

I really liked the concept of a dried , storage tofu. Having eaten real tofu all my life I hoped this product would come close. Disappointment! I will accept it for what it is but will never order it again .

Convenient but has a sand texture

This is dihydrated tofu. You MUST hydrated again for cooking and eating. This product tastes good and exactly same taste as my childhood. Please research recipes before you order or cook or leave sad reviews.

Tastes okay, but extremely hard to chew. I’m not sure of the point of this product.

I tried using it but could never get it soft and edible. My fault? Maybe.
