Some of the reels in the reviews are not even spartacus II's they are the old model, is this some kind of scam??

i ordered mine and got exactly what i ordered. a light blue spartacus II.  it has been a while. maybe they just got pics mixed up not sure. but it did have the correct photo when i made my purchase.

Can the reel be used for deep sea fishing, Stripers, Blues and Flounders?

you can use it with saltwater fishing, but as with any reel you use at the beach, make sure you rinse off with fresh water afterwards x) check out the details on the product page for drag poundage am all the specs too x) tight lines my friend!

Can you use 50lb braid effectively on this? All other KastKing reels are rated for 50lb braid but this one only lits up to 40.

If you get reaction tackle braided line they're 50 lb test braided line is only equivalent in diameter to a 12 lb monofilament so yes you can use 50 lb braid effectively on this setup.

Is it smooth out of the box? And does it have a lube port or some place to put the lube

This reel is pretty nice!  Works right out of the box and lubricating it is exceptionally simple.  There are areas where you simply place a single drop of oil and that’s it.   The spool’s removable cover is made of plastic, but thats not a problem.  I with a flick of the lever, you rotate the cover and it comes right off so that you can oil the two inner points.  That’s it. It takes less than a minute to complete.   If this will be your first baitcaster reel, you WILL need to practice with it.  Watch videos on how to properly set the drag and tension.  Just remember; when casting, use your thumb to STOP the spool just before the lure hits the water.  Otherwise, the sudden stop will cause the free-spinning spool to back-lash.  Preventing free-spinning after the lure hits the water is what you want to prevent.    Just takes a little practice.  Good luck!
