## Description

Calibre Art bring this unique self healing rotary cutting mat for people who enjoy quilting and other small art and craft projects. The mat provides the perfect surface for you to cut papers, fabrics and leather strips. Not only does it protect your tabletop, it also protects your blades because of the soft compound of the mat that does not dull blades like cardboard does. The mat’s surface is made with high quality material that is European Commission EN 71-3 compliant. The surface is free of heavy metals and does not emit gas. The self healing property of the compound helps with resealing of surface cuts and allows the mat to retain its smoothness so that the cuts do not interfere with subsequent cutting. The rotating feature of this self healing mat allows you to rotate the mat (and the material) instead of changing your body posture while cutting. This makes cutting easier, better and safer because you retain optimum wrist and arm angles for your cutting hand. Along with the highly accurate grid lines, there are also many angle lines (every 15 degrees) to assist you when you need to cut special shapes. The grid line color and mat base color are chosen such that they are very easy for the eyes to read, providing enough contrast but not hurting the eyes. The surface texture is designed to not cause glare. There are 3 size options available for this mat: 18" x 18" (17" grids), 14" x 14" (13" grids) and 8" x 8" (7" grids).

Review: Amazing Product! - This is an amazing product! A cutting mat on a turn-table? What? Who knew? I’m not a quilter, so I had never come across this, but Facebook thinks, because I sew, I must be a quilter, and advertised a product similar to this to me. It was too small & too expensive, so I turned to desertcart to find the largest one available, for the most affordable price, with the best reviews—and this one is a great value for its size and it works! I sew lingerie and all of my pattern pieces are fairly small, as are the fabrics I use. This cutting mat, on top of my cutting table, makes the cutting process so much easier and quicker! I am always cutting the right side of the pattern and don’t need to walk around my table or try to turn the non-turning cutting mat *or* my pattern & fabric! (A “lefty” would always be cutting the left side of their pattern!) It seems to be durable, but I’ve only been using it for a few short months—but it’s still wonderful & in good shape, just like the day it arrived. (I always use sharp, new, and nice rotary cutter blades, so I haven’t had to press very hard, which does extend the life of any self-healing mat.) It did smell a bit at first, but i just let it “off-gas” on my shaded porch for a few days. This is standard with any self-healing mat that has been protected in plastic & not just left out on a retail shelf (to off-gas before you buy it!)

This is an amazing product! A cutting mat on a turn-table? What? Who knew? I’m not a quilter, so I had never come across this, but Facebook thinks, because I sew, I must be a quilter, and advertised a product similar to this to me. I wish I would have purchased this product years ago. This is so handy!! I love it. If you quilt, you need it. Especially great when you have a lot of pieces to cut out. You don't have to keep turning the fabric and being careful to keep everything straight and lined up. Just turn the whole cutting board.
