Good value Good Looking and Comfortable
This was an affordable armrest as some are unreasonably expensive. Does the job and looks good and easy to install. I have had it now for several months no issues and it's comfortable. It fits the mandolin fully adjustable.

Excellent wood on a budget-priced armrest!
I admit to being somewhat frugal. Okay... I'm a complete cheapskate! Rather than spending $45 or more on a "nicer" armrest for my mandolin, I ordered this one for about a third of that price. The hardware is identical, and you can choose either chrome or gold color to match the hardware on your instrument. The wood is high quality... either rosewood or ebony... but the sharp edges and hard finish really defeat the purpose of why you want an armrest. A few minutes with sandpaper... first a coarse grit for primary shaping, and then a fine grit for smoothing and finishing... and I have the beautiful addition you see in the photo. After sanding to my preferred shape, I rubbed in just a touch of lemon oil from a paper towel. Even though it took some work on my part to make this armrest work the way I wanted, I give the product a full five stars because of the quality. The hardware is the same type used for violin chin rests, and wood (I have both rosewood and ebony) is truly beautiful once the factory finish is sanded away!

Reasonable for Its Modest Price
This is a functional arm rest, but, its quality is reflected in its modest price. The edges of the wood, although smooth are not rounded or beveled. I'm hoping it is truly solid wood and not a pressed composite, as I may decide to file/sand the edges into a more pronounced contour.

This is a real value for mandolin owners
After purchasing my mandolin, an armrest was needed to avoid unnecessary wear on the finsh from my hairy arm so I purcahsed this one. It looks and works great. The wood compliments my instrument and the hardware is classy looking. It was easy to install and there you have it. All of this for a reasonable price, too.

Mandolin Armrest
Nicely made, but I wish it had a larger place for your arm.

Really nice accessory!
Received this Rosewood arm rest for my Mandolin. It came partially disassembled (Arm rest, backing clamp, turnbuckles, and turnbuckle adjustment tool). Assembly (no instructions) and installation were easy enough. NOTE: I feel I should let the newbies know that since adjustment/tightening is done by rotating the turnbuckles it is important during assembly to note that the back clamp threads are left-handed (the reverse of the arm rest). The barrels are also made with left and right interior threads, so it is important to install each correctly. Screw the turnbuckle barrels to the same piece first by rotating each one (1) full turn, then to the second piece one (1) full turn. This allows the turnbuckle barrel to rotate freely to tighten or loosen the arm rest using the adjustment tool. For the money this is a very nice accessory for your instrument, and I'll be getting the Ebony one for my other mandolin.

Cheap, wrong color, too small
I ordered one with gold colored metal and a rosewood finish however I got a silver metal one with black wood finish. Very disappointing. Then to make it worse it's too small to fit properly on my mandolin. I'm able to get about 2 or three threads on the female end and that's it. I was looking forward to having this accessory on my mandolin but it's really not that great and kinda cheap. BUT I do believe you get what you pay for and this product is only 15 dollars so I would say it is worth the price.
