Well made. works great on sunny days. LOVE the little pull out arms.
I have had two different versions of a solar fountain for the bird bath. This is the BEST! I love the little pull out arms. They are very adjustable to fit any bird bath. There are several options for the water spout. My favorite is the one that turns around and stays low to the water. Water doesn't get spewed out of the bird bath with it. The crystal clear attachments seem a little fragile, but so far they are working well and staying put. Most importantly, the birds are happy. It's well made and I would recommend this one to my friends and neighbors. NOTE: it doesn't work when the sun isn't shining as it doesn't store energy. It works more slowing on a cloudy day, but works very well when it's sunny, which luckily it is here a lot.

Reliable and sturdy
It works very well and there are a lot of different spray options. It feels very solid and is easy to clean. It really senses subtle changes in the amount of sunlight. The birds seem drawn to the moving water, so all’s good! It was well worth the cost.

Nice fountain!
Overall this fountain is good quality so far! It's a good size and I love that the pump separated from the solar panel if I want. Having both functionalities is really convenient. The pump works immediately when it hits sunlight and has good power to it. I was bummed it doesn't store any sunlight at all because it just really limits the usability during morning and early evening when birds would be most likely to come visit it. That's on me though because it says that right in the description. The reason I knocked it one star is because I wish it had a medium power/speed. It has high and low and with some of the heads a medium would be great to have because low is too little and high sprays too much and causes the water to spill out and drain too quickly.

barely dribbles. But, maybe it's me
Don't buy this. I bought mine and didn't open it right away, and now it is too late to return it. But you can still save yourself the money and learn from my mistake. The fountain barely dribbles. If I put the nozzle ends that are supposed to send out beautiful arcs of water while rotating, engaging your senses as you listen to the tinkle of falling water and the sound of happy birds? It then still barely dribbles and might turn a millimeter at a time. And did you see in the video and pictures the clear plastic extension piece, which appears to be about 2 inches long and attaches to the fountain, causing the arcs and water displays to reach even higher into the air, easily reaching a height of 2 or 3 feet, catching the light as they cascade under the force of gravity? That is not in the box, and it is not even pictured in the chart of included nozzle ends. I was pretty darn disappointed. And, this was not my first rodeo with a fountain in my bird bath, so I have a pretty good idea of how they are supposed to work. And I found the problem. On the bottom of the unit wrapped around the pump and fountain housing several times and held in with clips is the "This solar water pump kit with a separate design, you are free to design into a water feature or other water circulation system, so that your garden looks lively. With a 9.8ft cord connecting the water pump to the solar panel, you can place your water feature and fish tank in the shade or indoors and simply expose the solar panel to the sun." I am not sure what the heck this sentence is trying to say about keeping your fish tank outside in the shade etc. The issue is this. The tube for forcing water from the pump and then expelling it through the fountain is 9.8 ft long. There is no way a little solar-powered motor can push water that distance, even if a solar flare were occurring. The tubing from the pump to the fountain forms a closed system. You can't just cut and piecemeal it, that would be a weakness in the water propulsion process, and why would you even have to do that? I got disgusted by the whole thing and put it back into the fountain to dribble away. Obviously, I must be missing something important, as this fountain has a reasonably decent rating, but I KNOW that there is no way a 9.8ft piece of tubing is supposed to propel water originating from the motor along its length and eject it with any force out of the fountain end.

Finally someone produced a sturdy stabilization system for the fountain!!!
If you've used this type of solar fountain in your bird bath you know the frustration of the cheap quality & style straws that were supposed to hold the solar float in place. They also quickly succumbed to dry rotting (it's solar and in the sun) and breaking do it's poor and cheap design. and resulting in loss of water going outside of the bird bath. FINALLY & AT LAST...someone has put some thought in the design and production of a strong and sturdy stabilization that holds the solar float in place. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Works OK, Some issues
The AISITIN 3.5W Solar Fountain Pump does what it claims and for the most part, does it well. The extendable arms do a very good job of keeping the fountain centered in the bird bath. I do have a few issues with the fountain. First, the solar feature does work well, but ONLY when in direct sunlight. On even slightly overcast days, there is not enough enough sunlight to fully power the pump (if at all). Second, I find that for a medium size bird bath, the spray (and mist created) dramatically increases the rate of evaporation and cause the water to be completely gone in less than 3 hours. My bird bath holds about 3 gallons of water. Constantly refilling the bath (which I typically do just once per day) has become a chore. If you are using this in a larger pond or a very large bird bath, this rate of evaporation may not be an issue for you. The setup of the unit is simple and straight forward and the variety of spray nozzles can give you the effect you want. I deducted 2 Stars for the low sensitivity of the solar panels (not working well or at all in muted sunlight) and the water loss in a medium size bird bath. I posted a video showing the weak stream of water on a slightly overcast afternoon and a photo showing the sky at that time. 3 Stars and I cannot recommend this item for use in a small to medium bird bath. NOTE: this does not have a battery nor an On/Off switch. So it comes on when the sun shines and shuts off when there is no (direct) sunlight. If you are going to be gone for a few days, I recommend you remove it from your water feature. I write honest reviews based on real life experience with each item to help others make informed purchases. I read reviews too, and appreciate how helpful they can be. I hope that you find this review helpful!

Performs Very Well. Will Overspray Birdbaths Smaller Than 20" Diameter
Based on the reviews, two factors influenced me to buy this model; the changeable heads for the different spray effects, and the switch to vary the pump speed. The shipment arrived in good order, all the parts were included, and the instruction pamphlet was legible and easily understandable. There is only one downtick I might mention. The inserts that create the different spray patterns are made of a translucent plastic and stamped with the letter of the alphabet corresponding to the spray patterns illustrated on the instruction sheet. The stamped letters are extremely difficult to see. Each time I determined which piece was which, I used a permanent marker and wrote the letter on the piece. I kept the flow issues from other reviews in mind and turned the pump speed select from MAX to MIN. I had installed the pattern pieces E and I for the pattern of four individual spouts in a fan pattern. While putting the spray heads on, the solar cells were toward the sun and I could feel the pump immediately start to hum. The fountain started to pump immediately. The initial fan spray was contained and fell back into the birdbath. After about three minutes the pump sort of hiccupped and caught a good prime at which point the spray flow increased to the height where the water fell outside the bath or else was caught in the strong spring breeze and blew outside the catch zone. I changed to sprayer J and it seemed to contain the spray at first, but the pump output increased and settled into a flow rate that went high and fell outside the catch zone. It doesn't show well in the first photo but the spray extends to the top of the picture border. In the second picture, the spray reaches as high as the road in the background. I estimate the spray height to be 24". In summary, it performs admirably and as promised. It just outperforms the capacity of our 20" diameter birdbath! I bought two of these, so I am going to experiment with putting a flow restrictor in one of the sprayers...and then shop for a larger birdbath!

Missing and defective pieces
I purchased two of these solar fountains for our yard. They do work, but I feel like what I thought I was buying and what I received are two different products. The issue is the advertisement on Amazon shows pictures and video of pieces that didn't come with the fountains. I really was excited for the extension tube that would make the fountain spray higher than normal solar fountains. Also two of the four included connectors that attach directly to the fountain keep popping off because they are too loose. I read a couple of reviews that said they encountered missing pieces but I thought that was probably just a fluke, guess not! I understand that this is only a little solar fountain but it is still frustrating to have no recourse for decent quality control from the manufacturer and Amazon advertising. Their answer is return and try again. Sorry not worth the gas to go return it I'll just use the sad nozzles that do work.

Ottima fontana solare, molto versatile
