Nicely made product, feels sturdy and good quality. I use this for opening and closing my loft hatch and also velux windows.

This is an excellent quality product let down by the pole which lacks any strength when used with a loft ladder it bends noticeably

I bought this to open the loft without thinking it through. It doesn't work on my type of loft hatch. However, as I am disabled its proved invaluable in other ways. I can just about stand on my loft ladder these days for a few mins before my legs begin to let me down, but I cannot climb in at all. Due to the hooked handle on this sturdy pole I managed,with relative ease, to hoik my Christmas decorations and the tree which is in five bags itself ,towards the hatch, breaking a 3 year no decorations period. lol. In addition, I was sorting out the items stored in my large ottoman bed base. I could similarly drag things towards me with relative ease out of them. When i came to put back what I was keeping I could push them gently into place with it. Its not for its intended purpose - but I do wonder how I managed without it in recent years. its proved a great help to me. Worth every penny. Its very sturdy. Made of strong wood with very good metal at the end. It has two different ends to the book.It now resides, slotted into the side of my airing cupboard to be easily on hand.

Not great, slips too easily

Very good piece of equipment, works well. Strong and sturdy. Easy to use for opening and closing skylights. Shorter people may find that need a step to reach skylight.

Very good that there were two items in the box, but sadly you would need that as the actual wooden pole part is very flimsy and makes the item not fit for purpose. Our loft access door felt really heavy at the end of this pole. It opened the loft door ok, but wasn't strong enough to close it, I thought the pole was going to snap, so I didn't use it, put it straight back in the box with the 2nd one.

Works very well for a standard cross-shaped catch on a loft hatch with a pull down ladder. Good length and sturdy. Only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it could have been sanded with a finer paper. Whilst I haven't yet, I have read that some reviewers got a splinter from the handle. It's not a rough, un-sanded handle by any means, but it could have had a better sanding. Definitely worth the money and easy to give quick sand over with a fine paper.
