Very good CD
I purchased Crystal Method's Vegas CD several years ago. I was not accustomed to that type of music, but when I heard it playing in Borders book store I decided to investigate. I was told what CD it was and I purchased it. I really liked it a lot and use it a lot when I work out and driving. I was also pleasantly surprised to find that Vegas was the soundtrack for the movie "The Replacement Killers."Well recently I thought I would check out more music from Crystal Method. I checked out the reviews on Amazon.com and purchased Drive. At first I didn't think it was as good as Vegas, but realized that the themes are very different. Vegas has more of a groove to it (not that it is a groove just more than Drive). Drive is great for motion. If you are exercising, driving, riding your bike, etc. than this CD will be great for you. There isn't one slow song on the whole CD and there are no breaks between tracks--just smooth transitions. The CD has grown on me and now I listen to it more than Vegas. There isn't a lot of bottom in the songs (deep bass lines) and it isn't a groove (like R&B, funk, etc.). However, it's just great music to move by. It grows on you too even if you aren't used to listening to techno music like I was.I recommend this to anyone who wants music to move by such as working out, riding your bike, or like the title says, drive.

Delivers what it promises
This is a bit of an odd CD in that it isn't exactly an album as such. TCM have re-used some themes from tracks which were previously or subsequently released but there is quite a bit of fresh material on this disc and much of it is classic Crystal Method although perhaps toned down a little to make it a bit more mainstream, for the Nike crowd. But that isn't necessarily a bad thing. There's plenty of TCM's signature sound here - heaps of bass, great drum loops, complex and rich sounds and fat beats. Because of its nature, this album is a bit more "mixed" than a typical TCM album, with the tracks running into each other. That means you can listen to it all in one go (as intended) and it just sort of flows. What's important is that it has the funk and groove we've come to expect from TCM. It's catchy and fun. In fact, it ranks among the better Crystal Method CDs. If you like drum and bass and/or dance music or are a big Crystal Method fan then you want this disc.

A band that samples/covers other bands, sampling/covering themselves. Meta or Zen?
All the tracks on this album are versions of tracks off their other albums. Not terrible, but not what I'd hoped for.

CD Hülle kam beschädigt an.
