8 OZ Grafting Wax Tin Review
Reliable, Weather-Resistant Protection for Successful Grafting. The 8 OZ Grafting Wax Tin is an outstanding choice for gardeners, orchardists, and horticulture professionals who value durability, ease of use, and dependable results when grafting trees and plants. This weather-resistant, moldable wax delivered exactly what I needed for ensuring successful grafts, sealing cuts effectively, and protecting delicate union points from environmental stressors on my Bonsai and fruit trees. One of its most impressive features is its excellent malleability. The wax softens easily, making it simple to work with by hand or using tools, and adheres securely to branches or scion without cracking or flaking. It forms a tight, protective seal over graft sites, shielding them from moisture loss, pests, and diseases, which are critical factors for ensuring graft survival. Its weather-resistant properties set it apart from many alternatives. Whether in fluctuating spring temperatures or under summer heat, the wax maintains its integrity without melting away or becoming brittle. This reliability makes it suitable for both hobbyists working on small-scale projects and professionals managing large orchards or vineyards. The 8-ounce tin size was an excellent balance between convenience and value for me. It provides enough wax for multiple projects while remaining easy to store and transport. The wax itself felt high-quality and consistent in texture, ensuring a predictable application every time I applied it.In short, this grafting wax demonstrated a perfect combination of flexibility, durability, and protection, supporting healthier, more successful grafts for me. Itโs clear that this product was designed with both functionality and real-world conditions in mind.Final Verdict:If youโre looking for reliable, easy-to-use grafting wax that performs exceptionally in all weather conditions, I recommend the 8 OZ Grafting Wax Tin. Itโs an invaluable tool for anyone serious about successful plant grafting and scion survival.

Good seal; gooey application
We bought this product to seal the limb we cut from our olive tree. We're hoping that this application will seal moisture in and insects out allowing the tree to bud just below the cut line. That said, the product is as described. Ease of use and application are not straightforward. We put the container in hot water to soften, and that took several applications before we could pull wax globs out with a popsicle stick and apply the wax to the cut. We ended up using a small hair dryer to keep the wax viscous enough to spread over the cut branch. That worked well and the results are satisfactory. The product is as advertised.

Still the best!
Sticky as can be, use gloves. Still the best there is! Best wound sealer for woody plants too. No tar or petrolium.

The stickiest substance on earth?
I am not an experienced grafter. I cannot rate the effectiveness of this product over long term use, or compare it to others... but wow, is this grafting wax sticky! I think it's the human equivalent of fly paper glue. Stuck right to my little grafted trees, got moderately harder after a couple of days. Not hard to use, other than being sticky, stretchy and gooey. I recommend wearing disposable gloves, it's not easy to get off of your hands. Plus is that it is pretty easy to avoid spilling or smearing onto most other surfaces.

Towbridge Grafting Wax works a treat
Easy to apply after following instructions on how to soften and creates a perfect seal.

Saved my trees and bushes
Just planted a few bushes and young trees only to have the voles come to feast and strip the bark on the bottom of the stalks. Applied this around all the stems and base to close up the damage and to deter further feasting and it has worked successfully. Even after multiple waterings and rain it has stayed on and not budged. You must work fast once you heat it up to become pliable but once on this wax is a life safer. Would highly recommend.

Looks like this saved my Japanese maples!!
Last winter's radical temperature swings had caused severe bark cracking and peeling on several of my Japanese maples. I used this product to seal the bare spots on the trunk, preventing insects from getting in, to prevent moisture loss, and so moisture could still flow upwards to the higher branches and leaves. I'll have to wait until spring for a final verdict, but it looks like this saved my trees. My only complaint is that the product needs warming to spread well, but the tin can't be microwaved, amd heating it on the stove results in a tin that is hot and dangerous to handle. The product itself is great though.
