KastKing Spartacus II Baitcasting Fishing Reels with 7.2:1 Gear Ratio

EDIT: Ok so I have been using the reel A LOT and randomly during a cast it squealed. Now it squeals every cast like the spool bearing is bad or something. It's weird because it still casts perfectly smooth.. I just took it apart and oiled everything, we will see it fixes the issue. I have been wanting to get a left handed retrieve bait caster for a while now just to try it out verses my right handed one. Didn't want to spend 100$+ on one and finally gave in to this one for 49$. Caught the bass in the picture today with it, not a monster bass but it wasn't tiny either. Great working reel! I'm actually surprised how nice it looks and material feels. The one I have is like a matte textured feel to it. The reel is very light weight and compact. Fits my hand perfectly. (Medium gloves for reference) I used it today for about 30minutes and it took me about 4 casts to get the brakes tuned in. I am by far not a pro caster but I know how set the brakes. It casts and reels very smoothly. Actually reels pretty fast too, I had to make myself slow down my reeling. When I first held the reel the cast button acted broken when I reeled. Then I realized it was because from factory the spool tention was completely loosened and it wasn't catching. I just tightened the spool up and it works perfectly. (To anyone who isn't sure how to do so), first loosen the spool tension to where the spool slightly shifts back and forth and then tighten it just enough to stop the shifting, then on the 1-10 magnet brakes set it at 10 make a cast and after each cast lower the magnetic brake until you start to get a backlash, once you start to get a backlash you know to set the magnetic brake slightly higher. Plus of course using your thumb to stop the spool. I would easily recommend this reel to anyone. It's cheap enough a beginner can learn on it, someone needing a new reel, or even someone wanting an extra setup.

Solid reel for a decent price. I never backlash but I also have been throwing a baitcaster since 2004 soooo, it takes practice.. Color is great, matches my custom rod perfectly.

After reading the reviews I was on the fence about this bait caster. I gave it a shot and am glad I did. I have other bait casters and this one, right out if the box, was the easiest of all to use. I’ve fished with it several times and it hasn’t given me any trouble. The adjustments for the drag and brakes are easy to set. Unlike others have reported, I haven’t experienced any backlash issues. This bait caster appears well made and built for longevity. If you’re on the fence give it a try you’ll be happy you did.

great baitcaster for the price. hardly any backlash. casts pretty far depending on bait. would highly recommend. very light weight too

Idk why everyone says these are trash. This works great! Drag is good, doesn't backlash when I've got it tuned in. It's comfortable in my hands. I was looking for a smaller baitcast reel to fit perfectly in my hand, but affordable. Ill be buying another one for a Christmas present this year for my baitcast beginner brother in law.

I love this reel. I at first bought it because I’m all about that striker green color. I also bought the Spartacus 2 rod separately because I wanted a medium rod instead of the MH that comes with the combo. Anyways I’ve been out on the Puyallup river here in WA state raking in pinks for weeks now and doing it with ease. I now have it dialed in to do exactly what I need it to do. I don’t know if this is a problem but I did have backlash issues when using braid. I’ve used 15, 25, 40, & 50 lbs on it and all just acted way too sensitive for me. But I’m going to call that operator error. I switched to a 15lbs mono thinking it’s just me and I need to get better at using a caster and I did get better or I think I did. With the mono line I didnt get any backlash ever. Just yesterday I casted over the river and into the trees and still no backlash. All I know is it’s been running smooth and perfect so I won’t be changing back to braid. This reel can work its magic with the line I have on it. PS: This is my first bait casting reel so if you’re like me wanting to learn to use one. I would say buy it.

Instant regret. Doesn't even hold the tension after putting line in the reel. Go with the megajaws and up! 🤙

l ergonomie est fantastique

Bought this real to go fishing with my son. Worked very smooth the first time out.During the second time out something let go on the inside and would not reel in or cast properly. My wife tried returning it, but I was just over the time limit.😢
