Genial!

Good solo vocal pedal
I am new to this pedal. My other harmony pedal is a Digitech vocalist live 4. Being as I have multiple set ups in different rooms in my house, I needed another harmony pedal for my smaller set up. I bought this pedal after some research. However, it is not working for me and I am going to have to snag a very old vocalist live 4 from eBay. First, the good things: it has a small footprint for a vocal pedal with harmony and effect. The dials and interface are pretty self-explanatory. When using the zoom V6 microphone which is recommended, I have achieved some very decent solo vocal quality. I do like that it has a compressor knob on the actual front of the pedal, so you don’t have to go through menus to find it. This is very nice. However, I find I do not use but maybe 1/3 of the pedal. I only use the solo vocal mic effects like hall reverb and basic reverb and delay functions. Why? The harmonies do not work like I am used to on the Digitech-and from what I have witnessed so far, sounds pretty dreadful to me. again, I have not spent much time with this pedal so perhaps I am doing it wrong. You do not plug in your instrument to the pedal in order to achieve the harmonies. Instead, this pedal relies on its own internal microphone to process the environment and the create your harmonies. That’s a Laymans interpretation of it. I did not think about that enough before I purchased it. I do very intricate harmonies and this little unit will not be able to do that for me. I am usually plugging in zero 1/4 inch jack cable from various instruments in my set up, including keyboard, pedal harp, Guitars, ukuleles, etc. The times I have tried to do harmonies with the pedal gave highly substandard and unrealistic results. Perhaps I am doing it wrong and I need to do more tutorials, but I am just not able to get the results I want. I will say also, if you intend to purchase this unit, you must have the microphone to go with it which is additional. I have tried another microphone (Behringer C – 02 condenser mic, which I usually use for the Digitech with no issues ) with but it was awful. When they say that the microphone that is suggested with this unit was made for the unit they are not kidding you. You need to buy it if you’re buying this unit. that leads to a whole other review, as half the people who have reviewed mic do not like it. All in all, I cannot say this is a bad pedal, but so far, I have not been able to get the harmonies that I want from the pedal. This pedal as you know, has a combination of dials and stomps. Here’s something to think about. If you were doing a live gig, and you were wanting to use all of the effects pedal offers, you are going to be bending down to either turn the dial a lot, or you are going to have this unit on the desk next to you that will not be able to utilize the stomp pedals. Either way you choose it, it’s going to make it exceedingly difficult to utilize everything on this pedal at the same time, thus making an all in one unit a moot point. just my opinion. however, if you wish to set the dial and forget about it throughout your gig, then you are good to go. I hope this review helps someone who is on the fence about buying this unit. Please take the time to consider exactly how you will be using this and where you will be placing it in your pedal chain or at your gig, before you buy. The lure of all kinds of vocal effects that it offers made me want to buy it, but when I got it home again I discovered that the only thing that I really use now is the reverbs and delays for solo vocal. that said, this solo vocal features are awesome. So just know what you’re getting into before you buy.
