A great thriller.
In Snared Gin is asked to help a friend find her missing sister. It puts Gin on a collision course with a serial killer but also with members of the Circle, the organization that she's been after for the last couple of books. You're kept on the edge of your seat as Gin races to save the kidnapped woman before she meets the same deadly fate as the previous victims. This book being about a serial killer is much darker than normal but I also think it's one of my favorites. Just when you think it's only about a serial killer case you find out there's more to it than you thought. Will Gin save the day or will she just get Snared by a ruthless killer? Jennifer Estep always leaves me wanting more so that I cant wait for the next book as soon as I finish the one I'm reading.I received this as an Advanced Reader's ecopy through Netgalley and the publishers for an honest review.

Good book
The story is good and there is some good charactwr development on the part of hugh tucker. But the mystery was easy to figure out instantly and despite her statements Gin is a terrible assassin and not patient as a spider which detracts a bit. The repressed memories while a common trope of fiction are getting silly. A couple sessions with a hypnotherepist would solve gins issues.Still a good book and a good series

My fondness for spider is still at its peak
I don't know how Jennifer Ester does it but 16 books in and I'm still totally caught in the Spiders web. Each book has enough of a different story so they aren't formulaic or repetitive. The main character Gin remain sassy, ready for action and still with a soft heart inside the tough exterior. I still hate it when the book ends, darn it! I'm ready to find out more about the Circle and what role Gin's mother really played in the organization before she developed a conscience. Poor Jennifer Ester her audience will never let her quit...

Loved it!
This is such a great read! I always look forward to reading about Gin and the gang. Gin was as badass as always! The thing I enjoy most about this series is that the secondary characters are just as well written as the primary. In this book, we find out a little more about Gin's past, and about Tucker. I am anxiously awaiting the next book.

Each story is a new adventure!
Jennifer Estep is one of the most prolific writers out there. Each story is a new adventure.Gin is looking for the kidnapper of a friends sister. The ongoing hunt for the members of the illusive Circle, leads her to remember, as well as learn, some startling things from her childhood. There is more going on surrounding her parents deaths than she ever believed. Why did the circle want her mother Eira dead? The name of the head of the circle stirs a swirling memory. Great fight scene! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC from Netgalley for an honest review.

In An Odd Twist You Kinda Like The Bad Guy A Little
Well where do we start? First thing, if you can have a series that has gotten to book #16, you have to have done something right, publishers don't stick with books that don't sell. Gin is most likely the most consistently bloody and violent heroine you will ever read about while still having a heart of gold for the weak and loyal to her friends beyond all reason. So even though she wants to devote full time to The Circle, when a young girl is missing Gin has to make that a priority with some twists you don't expect (and a couple you can see coming)This book was a bit harder to review because it got stuck a time or two and I felt she was cursed with temporary stupidity to get the plot moved along. Thing is though, the story was addicting and kept me glued to the pages, I would hit one of these "She ain't that stupid" moments and then just move on with the story but it was distracting. We have started searching out The Circle in earnest and she has at least one of them in her sights but things get complicated and Tucker seems to be a real enigma and I hope he does not get so evil we can't like him just a bit.Bottom line: Great story, good plot, some stumbles in keeping Gin consistent, really good ending and we get to know a bit more about the night her family died. Hang on folks, this ride is not over.

Good story
Honestly this book was probably my favorite for the entire series. A complete innocent needs desperate help. Gin is persuaded to help and helping brings her one step closer to the group responsible for her life turning upside down.

Come into my parlor...
Can a spider get caught in its own web of does its hunger cause it to take on more than it should? Gin can't let her quest to expose the circle even at her own expense. In the search for a serial killer, Gin uncovers some uncomfortable truths about her past as well as the circle. Doing what she does best, Gin almost goes too far. Will her stubbornness cost her all? Another exciting chapter in the elemental assassin series.

Out of Order
I have not been reading the series in order but that does not reduce the enjoyment of these novels.

With any long series, there are ups and downs. I felt that this was back to it's best. It would have been nice if for a change the spider did not get caught in a web. The strength of these books have always been the supporting cast.

Gin isn't so sharp this time around
Note: this is book 16 in an ongoing urban fantasy series and if anyone started here, he'd miss out on a lot – and probably have his problems getting into the world and the cast of characters. Therefore I recommend to start the series with its first installment, “Spider's Bite”.ReviewIf you've read any of my other “Elemental Assassin” reviews, you know that I love Gin and her world of elemental magic, dwarfs, vampires and mob/underworld. And that love hasn't diminished over the course of 16 [!] installments. But there are stronger and weaker stories – and although the premises are great here, this is one of the weaker plots. Well no, actually it's not a problem of the plot, but of Gin not getting it, while I knew from the start, what was going on, whodunnit and what the other secret machination going on was.But to stop being cryptic: Gin is still searching for the members of the elusive “Circle”, the society that allegedly rules the Ashland underworld from the shadows and whose bosses ordered Mab Monroe to kill Gin's mother. But Gin's secret stalking of the Circle has to pause, when one of the “regular” underworld bosses begs Gin to find her missing sister. This then leads Gin to the revelation that there is a serial killer on the loose, who has already killed a sickening lot of young women. She and her trusted posse get into investigation mode and start hunting down the killer. That whole serial killer thing is cool, very CSI / Criminal Minds, if you get my meaning. But there is one huge hint at the beginning that gave me all the information I needed to get the picture pretty fast. And I was frustrated by Gin, who was the one getting the information and not drawing the right conclusions. Add to that a huge “too stupid to live”-moment that was very unlike Gin, and I was livid. But then again: even if it's a weaker story in the series, it's still hugely entertainging and great urban fantasy. And the new puzzle's parts Gin gets to bring along the overall story arc with the Circle make me already anticipate the next installment.
