First let me say, I truly thought this product was going to be another gimmick and another waste of money. I AM SO GLAD I WAS SOOOOO WRONG! I have no idea how this product works BUT IT WORKS! We have been adopted by a cat. Showed up at the house one night. Of course we had to feed her ( We have 4 dogs all rescues) So I promptly got both wet and dry food for Chloe ( the stray cat) Within an hour of placing it outside ( in bowls of course) they were covered in ants. Now I have a pest control person so I was quite shocked to see that many ants. I was truly at my wits end. I read the reviews and I was like yeah sure. But I bought it on the slim chance it would help. I have been using it for 3 days ( shipping was quite fast as well) Not one ant!!! I just place the bowl of food on top and dont have to worry at all. Chloe is actually getting to eat! Now I rarely ever leave reviews or feedback. But I had to this time as that is how impressed I am with this product. Such a simple product but amazing! Thank you to whomever created this! Almost a week in using these. Still working like a charm. I did notice some ants on the top of her cat condo but NONE in the food. The key is I think to not put it next to anything. Like a wall etc. Nothing that the ants can crawl up on and then jump into the bowls. I placed them center of the roof on the cat condo

This item has worked very well. It has kept the ants out of my cats food bowl.

I bought 4 of these so my automatic feeder could fit. As soon as my cat attempts to eat, the bowl slides across the tile, and the tile slides across the floor. Would make a good puck for shuffleboard; that's about it. An exhorbitant expense for a simple set of plastic tiles iced between with goo. And now I read in other feedback that the effect only lasts a month or so.

This product works well to set food bowls on to keep the ants out. However, it’s not as useful outdoors as it is indoors because it collects debris inside it that is a little hard to shake out. But if you have an ant problem, indoors, I can see where it would be very useful.

Don't know how it works but it definitely does. No ants in the pet food bowl, period! Just clean it occasionally is the only maintenance needed.

I was excited to order this product to get rid of the ants around the cat bowl. The item is very small 4x4". The food bowl barely fit. My cat was able to scoot the bowl off the "pad" and ants attacked. What I didn't know about this product is that you have to order several of these, as they fit like a puzzle. I am not willing to pay up to a $100 for this product. The moat system works just as well.

The only reason why I didn't give this a full 5 stars is because it slides easily on the floor. This means it can get pushed against the wall, making it useless as a defense against ants. If you stick something grippy on the bottom, the problem is solved, though. The product deters ants, as advertised. Ants are all over my house, but not my cat food, thanks to this AntPad. I recommend it (if you don't mind finding your own anti-slip pads.)

I've only had this AntPad for a short time but so far it's working miracles. I used to put a plate of cat food out and the ants would be crawling all over it within a half-hour. Now, I might see an ant or two around but nothing on the plate of food. It's a miracle! I'm not exactly sure how it even works, although there are basically two pieces of plastic joined by a short column in the middle and lots of little compartments inside that I guess the ants don't want to travel over to get to the food on top? I dunno. I'm stumped. Even my cat, Jack, is amazed. He asked me just yesterday if there was some king of pesticide on the pad but no, there's not, Jack. It doesn't smell, it doesn't feel odd - just hard plastic. So, the summarize - Jack and I are amazed at how well this thing works. But if anything changes and the ants suddenly start appearing all over the Fancy Feast Savory Salmon Feast Classic Pate, I'll let you know.
