The Yalumi Spark headlamp utilizes a sophisticated optical lens for a superior beam pattern and higher light efficiency. Three AAA batteries power one Cree XP-E high-output white LED light for long-distance illumination. It provides a narrow, focused beam of 140 lumens in maximum mode and throws light up to a long distance of 90 meters. The maximum burn time is 187 hours in economic mode and 95 hours on maximum mode (burn time may vary based on battery brand and life). The exceptional lens qualities in the Yalumi Spark are rooted in more than 16 years of experience in engineering state-of-the-art solutions for camera lenses, video lenses, scanners, and other optical products. The adjustable headband with lamp-angle tilt allows aiming of the beam. Lock mode keeps you from accidentally enabling the light--and draining the batteries--when the headlamp is stored in your pack or pocket. The headlamp also is IPX4-rated for water resistance. With a compact and lightweight design, the Yalumi Spark LED headlamp is ideal for outdoor activities or for technical activities where bright, precision-focused lighting is a requirement. Review: Testing Three Headlamps (Yalumi, Energizer, & Dewalt) - I had an older (a couple versions ago) Energizer headlamp and decided to get some more since headlamps are just so much more handy than flashlights. I bought the yalumi LED Headlamp Spark 105-Lumen 90-Meter... Review: Great Light for great price :-) - Bought this for my night running. Felt great on the head and the light is very bright. So far so good. The other brand name - black diamond - is twice expensive but less lumen rating. Cree LED is a reputable brand. Hope it lasts. Recommended. Updated - Ran twice at night around 1 hour each time. The headlamp is very comfortable and won't slip down and especially the angle tilt stay put. The light output is awesome!! Very bright and shine far ahead. Love this lamp. Other runner friends are placing order with same lamp with great performance and cheap. Hope it lasts. One negative thing that I can think of is that since the light compartment is not removable from the Adjustable headband, after several runs the sweat will make it a bit smelly (or I have to wash it by hand manually...). May be if the manufacture read this they can improve it for the next version. :-) Updated - 2/12/15. Purchased five mores for my running club! Battery life has been pretty good. I used rechargeable batteries and they performed great. I also dropped my headlamp once very hard but still in tact. Highly recommended.

Solid investment
I bought this headlamp to wear while running at night. Overall, it is a very good buy. Pros: 3 useful settings for the light: bright (which I usually use and is plenty bright), brighter, and blinking Comfortable, adjustable band Light stays put while running Ability to aim light down so you can see ground in front of you Lightweight Durable - it has survived being dropped several times with no ill effects Con: Goes through batteries relatively fast. I wear for 30-45 min a day, 2-3 times a week, and the light started going dim after 1 month of use. For $15, I don't think you can go wrong with this lamp.

Long range, Bright, and affordable.
I am kind of a Flash Light Freak. I feel you can never have to many lights and they just keep getting better the problem is this is an expensive hobby. I have many headlamps from Black Diamond on down. ones with separate battery backs and built in and this is my new favorite light. It is a good quality build not to flimsy or light weight but also not so heavy that it will bounce as you run or slide down your forehead. its also incredibly bright and clear for its very low price point. it also manages to maintain good battery life through smart consumption. it has a built in lock out switch so you can make sure it will never come on in a pocket or your bag and use up your battery when you don't need it. its lens keeps the light crystal clear but gives incredible range many head lamps are lensed for near distances of 30 or so feet this one is designed to give you max distance out to 90 feet giving you great visibility and you can clearly see what is ahead long before you get there this is typically only for hand lights. over all a great light and a very reasonable cost.

Great Price for a Good Product!
This light is super bright, and thus super awesome. I'm not a runner, so I can't comment on it's usefulness for running, but I've used it to walk and ride my bike at night (on paved roads), and it has worked out great. I have kind of a big head (at 21.5 in/54.5 cm circumference), so even with the strap adjusted as far out as it will go and the stretchiness, it is a bit of a snug fit, but not enough for me to mind. The strap is soft and wide enough to be comfortable on my head (and doesn't catch on my long hair), and I can wrap it around my wrist like a hair tie as well. I haven't had any trouble with the battery cover being unable to close, but I can see how that could be a problem with the catch being so thin. If it wears down from being opened and closed too much, or breaks from being dropped, it might be a future problem. So far I've dropped it twice, from about 4-5ft up onto hard surfaces, and nothing happened to it, so it is sturdy. I also really like the adjustable angles, as it useful to point at the ground and not blind other people/cars as it might when pointed straight forward. Overall, great product for the price, and just what I needed.

Works great when it works
It worked great at first. It's very bright for the price and doesn't use the battery too fast. Build quality seems pretty good. It is comfortable to use and easy to adjust. I took this on a trip to Madagascar within a week or so of buying it and after a few days of use it just quit working. I thought it was the batteries but new ones did not help. Amazon shipped me another one when I got home but I haven't used it a lot. Hopefully the failed one was just a fluke.

Great for night runs
I bought this for running at night. I live in a city but when running on a dark, uneven sidewalk facing oncoming traffic, I have almost no visibility. Combine that with weak ankles from old injuries and I almost had to call it quits after Daylight Savings Time ended. Instead, I got this light and can run safely again at night. I like the brighter of the two options, and it fits as comfortably as a piece of equipment on one's head can. I like that I can easily turn it off without removing it from my head when I take a walking break or run through a well-lit stretch. The adjustable tilt is great because sometimes I can see a few feet ahead of me and can point the light further out, but sometimes I need it pointing almost straight down. And I can simply duck my head for a second or two when passing other runners or cyclists in the opposite direction so I don't blind them. It never moves when I pound the pavement. I can't comment on how well the battery holds up because I only use it for about an hour a week now, but it'll be getting a lot more use as I become a more seasoned runner.

i feel like better parts and manufacturing process could have been used
I was very excited to use this for a camping trip I was going on the morning after the item arrived. The night before, when i got home, I opened the box, installed the batteries and pushed the button once. I didn't feel a click or any haptic feedback from the button push. I pushed again, this time the rubber button cover did not bounce back in. I removed the rubber button cover and noticed the micro switch/button broke off by the solder joints. Not sure if i have heavy fingers or if i received a dud. My guess is that i got a defected unit. After inspecting the button, i feel like better parts and manufacturing process could have been used, but hey it seems like everyone else's headlamps work fine. So it's either user error, or the manufacturing process and part quality.. My guess is towards the second for the headlamp i received. The headlamp did feel good on my head, the band was nice and wide. I did not like the battery compartment. The latch to open it seemed too light.. No pun intended..
