It's not deep, the water is "fresh" it's easy to clean, unlike the pools which get gross after a couple of days. We bought a scrub brush on a stick from Menards, and we easiy srcub it every day or so with or without soap. The dogs also like to drink the water so we try to be good about the detergents.
