I have a relatively heavy fishing kayak, and a lighter cheaper kayak and both fit on these rscks with no issues. It says these do not work with round bars, but I have removable ladder racks that come on and off my truck with round bars and just put some rubber down and tightened up the bolts and they were fine.I left the kayaks on these racks for about a week and drove about 400 miles with them up there and they didnt budge at all! They were secure on dirt camp roads and at highway speeds. The straps didnt slide at all.The install was easy. They supply a tiny little wrench but I just used a real wrench and took about a half hour to put them together and install them.Over all, very sturdy racks!
