Device recognized om Android 15 and Linux Mint 22 kernel 6.8.0-71-generic. Linux driver / application does not work. Android PadTVHD application says no signal even when connected to a working antenna with a good signal and fails every scan. Will be returning.

I am using it as a tuner for SageTV (I have two tuners). I found the driver on the Mygica web site and installed it and then installed the tuners on SageTV. I use a rooftop antenna and get all of the the main local stations (zip 94024). I am using Windows 10 but some comments indicate these tuners do not work on Windows 11. The mfg may need to upgrade the driver. update: I could not get the driver to load on Windows 11. This is not the Win11 security stuff. The driver started to load but then stopped with an unknown error

There were so many reviews saying this wouldn't work with windows 11, but I loaded the drivers and there was no error, but when I plugged in the dongle, it did say that the driver would not run and that the Core Isolation/memory integrity setting under Windows Security/Device security had to be turned off. I turned it off and it was able to work. Not sure what are the implications or if I should leave that off when I'm not using the TV. It does work, there doesn't appear to be any channel displayed and you use the arrow up/down to change channels. The antenna it comes with is tiny and is the same size of the stick. I thought this toy antenna was the cutest thing but wouldn't pull in channels, but it seemed to work as well as my larger loop antenna I've used before.

I used it on Windows 10. The installation and setup are not very straightforward and can be a bit confusing at first. It takes some time to get everything working properly. However, once it’s set up, it performs well and does its job as expected. This is not a plug-and-play product, but if you have some patience (or basic technical experience), it’s worth it

Got tired of paying so much money for cable tv when i spend most of the time streaming or local channels. Used the antenna below and installed it in my attic. GE Outdoor HD Digital TV Antenna, Long Range Smart TV Antenna, Supports 4K 1080P HD Smart TV VHF UHF, J Mount Included for Attic or Outdoor, Weather Resistant Just aimed it down town and plugged it into this little TV dongle and now i have all 80 local stations i can watch while i am on my pc. works great for the price. Cons: software support could be better. No program guide for all channels.....only EPG for individual stations. Work around is just google what is on local channels in your area and you will find what you want Update: 3/21/24 I upgraded from windows 10 to windows 11 and it breaks the app making this thing useless. Window 11 also flags the driver as a security risk

I bought this to setup a Plex server on a Linux box. It says it supports Linux, but only one version. Even with that there is no documentation on how to set it up and I could not find anyone on the forums who got it to work. For me this made it useless. I did plug it into a Windows box and it worked fine. Pulled in a fair number of stations and seemed to work okay. It did get a little warm. If your a Windows user this is a decent cheap tuner. If you use Linux try to find something else.

The tuner does work. it runs well on windows 10. The Provided Antenna picked up most of the channels in my area except for NBC. Had to use a different Antenna to pick it up All in All a good tuner would Recommend

Noted Linux support only extends to older kernel version 5.4. Modern Kernel does not recognize the 1f4d:a681. My hope was that the "B" would ship with the slightly newer 1f4d:692f chip MXL692 but this is definitely the chips MXL603 + MN88436 — no modern Linux support

Actualización de mi reseña tras darle una segunda vida al dispositivo con un nuevo proyecto: NUEVO ESCENARIO: Uso con Tabletas Android (Ideal para deportes y proyectores) Recientemente desempolvé este sintonizador para ver televisión en vivo (como el Mundial) sin el molesto retraso o delay de casi un minuto que tienen las transmisiones de streaming por internet. Lo conecté a mi tableta mediante un Hub USB-C (con soporte de carga para no quedarme sin batería a medio partido) y transmití la imagen a un proyector. El truco para la tableta: Es sumamente sencillo. Solo tienes que descargar la aplicación PadTV HD de la tienda, conectarlo, hacer la configuración inicial de escaneo de canales y listo. Funciona de maravilla, súper estable y totalmente en tiempo real. ESCENARIO ORIGINAL: Uso con Nvidia Shield (Centro multimedia) Es de los pocos sintonizadores USB que permiten ver TV abierta local sin internet directamente en la Nvidia Shield. Esto me resolvió el problema de tener que cambiar las entradas HDMI y ARC en mi configuración con barra de sonido Dolby Atmos, permitiéndome controlar absolutamente todo desde la caja Android. Requisitos para la Shield: Forzosamente necesitas instalar (mediante sideload) la app "FTA Tuner Loader" para que la caja reconozca el hardware. Como reproductor de TV, recomiendo instalar "Mochi Live TV" (ya que la clásica Live Channels fue descontinuada). Tip de oro: El sintonizador Mygica A681B solo funciona si lo conectas en el puerto USB que está pegado a la salida HDMI de la Shield. Nota visual: La señal de video no es compatible con el escalamiento "IA Mejorado" a 4K de la Shield, pero la calidad nativa es bastante decente. A tener en cuenta (Lo malo): La pequeña antena de "cuernitos" que trae incluida es una vacilada; es lo mismo que ponerle un trozo de alambre. La sensibilidad de recepción de este sintonizador es ligeramente menor que la de una televisión estándar, por lo que para captar todos los canales de tu zona, necesitarás conectarle una antena aérea de verdad. Conclusión: Si tienes un poco de paciencia para configurarlo y las aplicaciones correctas, es una pieza de hardware fantástica. Ya sea para no perderte un gol por el lag del internet en tu tableta, o para centralizar tu home theater en la Nvidia Shield, vale totalmente la pena.

Es medio complicado hacer que funcione, pero una vez q funciona es una maravilla, incluso pude hacer que funcione en celulares y el carro. Pero si es medio complicado.

Hay que realizar varios intentos para que reconozca los drivers del sintonizador, pero al final de cuentas si logré hacerlo funcionar y la grabacion tambien funciona correctamente. La pequeña antena que viene en la caja no tiene mucha recepcion o es nula, hay que utilizar una antena aerea fija. No me gusta que solo sea compatible con WIn10.
