## Description

Now 5 to 6 players can explore Catan's wild, unknown seas in search of fish, spices, or rich new lands for settlement! This Catan: Explorers & Pirates 5-6 Player Extension allows you to add 1 or 2 new opponents without sacrificing ease of play. As in the Catan: Explorers & Pirates expansion, you'll build harbor settlements, ships, settlers and sailing crews and set out across mysterious seas in search of new lands, spices, fish and gold fields. So, get a crew of 5 or 6 together for an adventure in Catan. Challenge pirates on land and sea as you seek to win renown. Use your ships to carry loyal settlers and claim faraway territory. Chart unknown waters and return with rich cargo. Should you prove the most able explorer and be the first to complete your noble mission, you'll become master of Catan!

Review: worth it - as always, Catan brings hours of easy fun! The game is pretty simple to learn and yet there are so many variations that its different every time. The expansion pack was easy to add to my original collection and the instructions were well written.
Review: Great expansion adds new layers of strategy. - I received the core expansion as a Christmas gift. I purchased the 5-6 player add on to allow my gamer group to play all at once. First off the final board layout is huge. Make sure you have a large playing surface. I found what some of the other reviews said about the boarders being thicker than the original Catan boarders to be true. This makes it a little tricky to keep the playing surface intact during set-up and playing. The new additional strategies offer a more in depth game with multiple areas to gain points. We have played this three times, twice with the complete Exploers and Pirates set-up. Make sure to give yourself a solid 2.5-3 hours of play time if you're playing with 5 or 6 players. This has been a great addition to our game line-up. With the overall size and time to play we find it hard to play a second round or completely different game in one night. This still will be one of our go to games because of the depth and variety of strategic options.

### ⭐⭐⭐ Not our favorite, but not bad

This particular expansion is unlike any other Catan game. It's not bad, but it's definitely more time consuming as each player has multiple actions to complete per turn. It's definitely not our favorite, but if you're looking for something completely different, then you'll probably like this expansion. We actually sold our's used because we realized we wouldn't play it enough to make it worth our financial investment in the game and expansion.
