Look like high end wood but are metal and very solid. Blades are a little short but still kick out decent velocity.

I wanted a big ass fan and for the price of one, was able to get two Minkas. I was hesitant about the length of the blades (I went with the shorter blades) and find them to be perfect for my setting. I have a living area that’s a part of a great room. The living area is approx 10’ x 11’. The fan looks perfect for the scale and cools almost too well. I have pine colored LVP and a driftwood bookshelf and this color of the fan is is just right. Most folks think it is a BAF. I think it’s better. Also super quiet. My other Minka with the light makes a slight noise but this one makes almost no sound. Install used a hot wire and control the on-off with the remote. The remote oddly includes a light switch even though there’s no light. Overall would buy again and recommend.

I love this fan so much that I bought a second one for my master bedroom. I find it very attractive, and love that it doesn’t look exactly like every other fan. It’s quiet and efficient. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because it comes with only a 6-inch attachment pole, useless for anyone who has a cathedral (sloping) ceiling. I had to hunt around on Amazon for the extended lengths my fans required (18 and 24 inch poles). They weren’t inexpensive, either. The seller should at the least have the longer length poles linked to the site with these fans. The manufacturer should also consider adding a longer pole, at least 12 inches, into the kit.

Update 3/31/22: This fan is still working perfectly. It was more than capable of keeping the house cooler over the summertime after I installed it, and has been nice just to leave on low to circulate inside air. I mentioned in the original review I was going to try something, and I did finally do it: the two pendant lamps have now been wired into the light circuit of the fan's included remote control box. The bulbs are Phillips warm glow dimmable LED so they work perfectly with the dimmer of the remote control, while being only 4W each to keep current draw to a minimum. This turned out to be a great idea since the fan does not have a light fixture of its own but still comes included with the capability in the remote box. (Probably not factory recommended to do this, but worth it.) Great fan, recommended. ;) -----Original----- I bought this fan to install in my livingroom to help maintain air circulation and keep it cooler in the summertime. My installation was likely a little different than most, but it was pretty straightforward and easy to install. Instead of using a recessed electric box which didn't exist in the location I wanted to mount the fan, I measured twice, drilled once, and had my Wave fan installed, securely mounted to my concrete ceiling with the electric provided by a swag chain/power cord that drops down to a wall outlet at standard height. The whole process took a little extra installation time because I had to 'invent' the swag power cord from scratch, find the dead center of my livingroom, drill and anchor holes for the hanger and the swag hooks, then put it all together. But I couldn't be more pleased with how it all turned out. The fan itself is whisper quiet, and that's just wind noise. The motor doesn't appear to make any discernible noise with the exception of a quick click as the radio receiver adjusts the settings of the fan in response to the remote commands. It's perfectly balanced, with no detectable wobble in any speed setting. :D The fit and finish are all what I'd expect from this caliber of ceiling fan. Just holding the bare motor prior to bolting the blades on it was easy to tell this is a much higher quality than big box store ceiling fans I've installed over the years. A few years back I had my eyes (and heart) set on Minka's Cirque ceiling fan in brushed nickel with the darker wood blades but it just never panned out. Now I'm kinda glad that one didn't because I actually like the organic design of the Wave more. I did end up purchasing this silver one from Amazon warehouse, but with the intention of changing the color if needed. It only just arrived today, so I'm content to let the silver blades and shrouds simmer for a few days/weeks just to see if they grow on me. If not, I might lightly dust on a few coats of flat white - we'll see. For the moment I'm giving this Minka fan 5 stars, and from what I've seen during installation I doubt that will change. Anything happens I'll update my review, but for now I totally recommend this ceiling fan. PS: I've got an idea. And if it works, I'll update my review to include this idea in case anyone else wants to try it out.

Love the look of this fan in my house! Circulate's the air nicely and I’m pleased with its function.

This looks great, but it's super hard to get all the wires into the space provided, and it's completely made of plastic. And the motor is incredibly noisy. It hums so loudly I can hear it upstairs, above it. I'm pretty unhappy with it, especially since so many reviews said the motor is silent. And it is, until I turn it on.

Very nice fans, they are easy as any other fan I have installed. They are very quiet and do put out a bit more breeze then I expected, usually run them on medium speed. Color is true to gray/brown bought two of them and colors match very well. We have 8’ ceilings and used the 6” down rod that comes with them, I did order 3.5” down rods but going to return them, 3.5” down rods would be very hard to install plus make fan look to close to the ceiling, not a look we are trying for. We feel that they do not hang to low. 14” from the ceiling to the bottom of fan motor. One remote does operate both fans not sure if there is a way to separate the two remotes to operate each fan on its own. We prefer two together. Over all at this time really nice and nice to look at fans.
