Awesome for field work in direct sunlight
I don’t know if any other field service techs know about this umbrella, but I’ve bought 3, over a 15 year period. The only detriment to having one is the Power of the Sun and wind, against the size of the umbrella! I should probably store mine inside a tube mounted somewhere on my service truck. The UV and rain and ice, tend to ware the cover material out and it shreds or rips easily. I tie the opened umbrella to the back of my truck while working in direct sunlight, especially in the Texas summers. Other times I tie it to the equipment I’m servicing. EZ setup and “break down” with HD zipties & bungee cords. I like the vents to allow a little light and heat ventilation.

purchased 8/2020 still using it 7/2025
I bought this umbrella back in August 2020, and it’s still going strong in July 2025. Just wrapped another beach weekend with it—flawless, as usual. We bring it every single time. It’s been everywhere, used hundreds of times, and it’s held up like a champ. I added one of those umbrella hooks from Amazon that slides on the pole—great for hanging towels and gear. Setup? Stupid simple. Pull it out, twist the base into the sand, pop the top on. Just pay attention to the wind unless you want to reenact Mary Poppins across the shoreline. I switch between upright mode and what I call “tent mode” for windy days. Just tilt it, fill the sand pockets, and boom—rock solid. It shrugs off gusts like it’s no big deal. Yeah, the zipper windows corroded shut years ago—but I never used them anyway. A few threads around the support arms are loosening, but after six years of beach weekends, that’s a badge of honor. Still works perfectly.

Bought a second one 10 years later -- love it!
We just bought a second one of these. The first one lasted nearly 10 years. We live in Florida and it got A LOT of use in the harsh Florida sun / salt air. It held up REALLY well - but the zippers finally gave out and it started to fade a little, so we just replaced it with exactly the same thing. Couldn't be happier -- the new one is improved with a "spiral" thing that grips into the sand making it even more stable. Super easy to assemble - just like the last one. We purchased a new one from Amazon, but it did not deliver the next day as it was supposed to. No problem - we stopped by our local Ace Hardware and picked one up for that day's beach trip and when the Amazon one arrived three days later we promptly dropped it off at the UPS store for an easy-peasy return. Still happy as can be with this product!!!

Good for a few seasons
Good umbrella for occasional beach goers. I've used this umbrella twice. Once you get familiar with the set up process, you can get this umbrella deployed in just 1 or 2 mins. Holds up well in strong winds with the use of the front anchor lines. Product design issues; -needs sand bag sto help hold down the side panels and back of the umbrella. This would make it more sturdy and easier to deploy. - the hinged slip joint on the center pole of the umbrella seems weak and flimsy. You can notice the stress that it takes when the wind is blowing. Made mostly of pot metal and plastic, it seems like it would only last a couple seasons. Maybe 6 to 10 uses. I only hit the beach a few times a year, so I expect that I'll have to replace this within next 2 seasons. I wish there was a more heavy duty one available, even if it cost twice as much. Overall this is a great product for the price, it won't last you a very long time, but then again nothing does these days.

Highly Recommend
We use this umbrella for soccer games. It offers great protection and shade. We fit up to 3 camping chairs underneath it. It is a bit pricey but it is definitely worth it. It is a large item but not super heavy. It is easy to assemble, you actually just open it as a regular umbrella.

Great -- but choose the size you need.
Several worthwhile improvements over the one we've had for 5-10 years. (BTW: That one is still serviceable, which tells you something. And we use it quite often -- on Cape Cod in the summer and Indian Rocks in the winter.) Probably should not have gotten the "XL" version. It provides more coverage, but is significantly heavier and longer. For families great; but for two not worth the added effort. For two, we'll still use our old one.

Great wind block, too bad they bound it too tight.
This was one of the greatest additions to being outdoors in cooler weather we have ever purchased. We set it up near a campfire, and were amazed how toasty we stayed in it. Anyone else using it near a campfire, keep in mind that gusty or varying direction or any amount of side wind will cause serious amounts of smoke to roll right into the shelter with you until you get a good 30' away. You need to be perfectly upwind from the fire. Once you hit that sweet spot, it is amazing. The biggest complaint, the tie wraps used for shipping were quite heavy duty, but so tight they caused damage. There were holes worn through the fabric, and the wire framing was actually bent, just from being ridiculously too tight. We were heading out right after receiving it so we didn't worry about doing a return, just straightened the frame and used it. It has been holding up fine. And we are using it primitive camping near a fire where it could easily get further damage. If we were planning any other use, we would have returned it.

Fantastic umbrella/shade
Worked great at the beach this year. In shelter mode it was fantastic, I got compliments and even a few interested buyers! Umbrella mode was great too, and the tie downs kept it from going all over the place in wind (umbrella is large so it catches a lot of wind) I HIGHLY recommend getting some separate stakes for this. The ones that come with it, the simple metal J stakes are essentially useless. The more robust ones that come with it are okay. I found the standard tan coloured Coleman stakes you can buy at Walmart worked 100X better and even in a 20km/hr wind directly into the shelter it had no problems staying up. The extra tie down ropes that come with the umbrella are great but be warned they are HARD to unclip from the D rings once attached. Took a lot of force. Maybe just tie down with your own line. These are the only complaints I have which aren’t an issue yet but I can see them becoming one as time rolls on: 1) The auger bit is plastic as others have mentioned. When twisting hard into sand, I’m always worried it’ll snap. Wish it was metal. 2) The lever you clamp down to hold the inner umbrella pole in place to the larger bottom pole with the auger tip is a little weak. I could easily pull the entire umbrella out while it was clamped down. Any serious gust of wind could too. Thankfully you have tie downs. 3) material is thin nylon stuff as usual. I just fear for its longevity. No issues yet.

Not solid enough for windy days
I only tried to use it once in 12 knots of wind, it turned inside out and bent. Very disappointing and my return window was closed
