Best Bang for Buck Customizable RGB Mechanical TKL
Pros: -Gateron switches: Most enthusiasts consider this switch to be smoother than Cherry MXs. I'm using the Gateron blacks and they feel lighter and smoother than Cherry MX black. There are so many cherry clones out there and it may come down to preference for you, but Gaterons are considered to be on the top end of the Cherry clones. -Customizable RGB backlighting options: 729 backlight colors. I haven't counted all of them, but I'll take Rantopad's word for it. This keyboard displays a greater selection of colors from what I've seen so far, not just the 7 or 8 colors that cheaper "RGB" keyboards support. You can also customize coloring per key, backlight behavior per key press, and whole board backlighting behavior. Backlighting can be controlled either through FN keys or by software (Software can be found on the Chinese Rantopad site). Software also supports different lighting profiles. EQ backlight feature is only available through their software and can't be enabled through FN keys. -Macros (using Rantopad software) -Well built: Aluminum baseplate gives the keyboard some heft. The plastic case bottom has a rough texture and is thick enough that I couldn't perceive any flexing. -Standard keycap sizes - You won't have any trouble finding replacement keycaps for the entire board. -Braided and detachable USB cable -Comes with a keyboard bag and key puller! Cons: -Keyboard shape - If you can tell from the photos, the left and right sides of the keyboard are diagonal and sit nearly flush on whatever it's sitting on. The edges basically form a 135 degree angle with your desk. This looks cool, but it also makes it hard to pick up the keyboard from those edges. If I need to move the keyboard, I have to either put my hands over it and grip the top and bottom edges or just slide it around. It's a nitpicky thing, but it's the first time I've experienced this with a keyboard and it'll take some getting used to. -ABS keycaps - as mentioned in another review, the keycaps are ABS but they are coated with a layer that does seem to give some grip to the surface. I haven't noticed any shine developing on the keys over the past few days of use, but I don't know how they'll hold up after a month. They don't rattle and the sound from typing on them was not discernable from when I tested some PBT keycaps on the board. I do plan to replace the whole board with PBT caps in the future. -Cable is USB A to USB A - the cable is detachable but USB A to USB A is not as common as the other USB types. This will limit your selection of cables if you wish to replace it. Overall, I enjoy typing on this board and I appreciate the amount of customizations available. If you want a mechanical TKL with quality switches and customizable RGB, the MXX Chroma RGB is the best bang for the buck.

Good initially, but switches will die pretty quickly, and the keys will get slick
I bought this keyboard on June 5, 2017, by June 7, 2018, one switch died. I bought a few replacement gateron switches, and replaced the bad switch. Luckily, I know how to operate a soldering iron and I have a desoldering pump handy. I ended up buying another keyboard once another switch started to not be reliable. I replaced that switch, and gave the keyboard to my fiance. She's been using the keyboard since. Two keys currently have to be replaced, and I am just so turned off this keyboard that I decided to write a review. There are MUCH better keyboards out there for a small amount more than this one. Keep looking. These gateron brown switches die very quickly. They do NOT last. The key caps that came with this keyboard get slick after a few months. They are cheap thin ABS plastic. I am disappointed in how long this keyboard was able to last for the amount I spent on it. The keyboard that I replaced it with was 29% more expensive, but has not had a single issue in the year that I have had it. It came with double shot PBT key caps, real cherry switches, and a better warranty. Look up my reviews if you want to see what I bought.

At first I thought this was a super cheap feeling keyboard
At first I thought this was a super cheap feeling keyboard, like the switches didn't feel like they were put on correctly and were loose. Then I realized that from the factory, the keycaps are not pushed down into the stem all the way. So I took like 30 seconds to press down all the keys with a little bit of force to seat the keycaps onto the stem. Now all I can say is wow. Wow, what a great value. The keyboard is very sturdy feeling, the rear connector looks very secure and it does not look like there will be damage moving the detachable cable around. The RGB lighting effects are very good, almost on the same level as logitech's rgb lighting. The design is very sleek and attractive looking which remind me of corsair's mechanical keyboards but without the added bulk. The keycaps feel very smooth (Don't know if this is a pro or con to you, but you can always just get new keycaps). I love these gateron switches, they are very smooth, much smoother than cherrys for sure. The actuation weight of the gateron blacks are about inbetween cherry reds and cherry blacks, which are ideal and perfect for me for gaming.
