I ordered the globe because everyone in my old established neighborhood had it. Some are rust colored due to the irrigation systems. One review I read said it was cheep and the mount was flimsy. I found it to be fully acceptable and easy to attache to my post. The single screw for post attachment might make some think it would fall off. The globe doesn't have to be attached as if it was going into outer space. I put a small spot of silicone opposite the screw and it secured it. Enough said. Remember, it doesn't have to hold anything up. Just sit there.

Just installed two. Super easy, look good. Not sure about durability. Also note that the sockets included are not grounded, just +\- wires. Maybe not up to code for most outdoor installs. But working fine. I am using clear LED bulbs, 60w equivalents, and they are very bright, might bump back to 40w.

This lamp does well. Pretty solid but it could be a slight bit stronger. Pleased overall. I use it for making mickey ear lamps so I cut two holes for smaller lamps. Dremel does well but doesn’t cut extremely smooth through the surface as it is prone to chip. If used straight out of the box it’s a wonderful product

I had one of these for years, but accidentally dropped the globe while painting the post. It cracked, so I had to get a replacement. My lamp-post is custom-made, but it has a 'standard 3" Pole Mount' on top.After a bit of searching, I found this unit, which looked like it would be a perfect replacement for my broken globe. It's not only a perfect replacement, it's actually a new-and-improved version of my existing unit. Hooray!It arrived undamaged and well-packed by Amazon.Easy to wire-up, and install. I used a 150W-equivalent A19 LED Bulb, which is quite bright, and should last a long time.The only problem was it came with a stripped mounting screw. I replaced it with a larger machine screw (and nut), which was an upgrade from the existing part.Good Globe Lamp.

I bought and installed this globe about three years ago and have no complaints. I didn’t use the socket but the globe fit the post of my front yard light just right. I have in Michigan and the plastic has stood up to winter temps with no problems. I use a photo sensitive bulb that turns on at dusk that works perfectly even through the opaque globe.

I have ordered a few of these to replace damaged ones that are hit by cars in my yard....The quality is very good and the price is much better than local.....

I used this kit to replace a 20 year old globe and fixture. The globe had turned yellow, the base was getting rusty. I like the seamless look of this. Globe. post, nothing in between. For this price, this includes everything you need but the bulb. I am happy with this purchase.
