Not only does the unique honey-comb padding completely eliminate pain, even applying full pressure on my elbows, but the material is luxurious and looks to wear nicely. I don't envision the padding will degrade any time soon. It seems that the padding is built to compress and expand quickly and repetitiously. I had a moment of buyers remorse wondering if I should have simply bought the pads (from this manufacturer) instead of the entire sleeve. I have finally concluded that I prefer the sleeve. While it is clearly more "visible" than a pad, and a bit on the warm side, there are two major benefits to the sleeve. 1. There's not nearly as much slippage or need for adjustment.
