Review: pure gold nostalgia and very worthwhile for a play through - What a burst of nostalgia this Tamagotchi was in our house! It seems pretty faithful to the original, the screen is non-backlit and hard to see unless you get the angle just right, the resolution is low with large pixels. It feels solid. When you first pull the tab from the battery to turn it on we found the sounds were really shrill and unpleasant (just like the original). You can mute the sounds by pressing and holding the left button and pressing the right button whilst holding the left one and selecting off. The creature is very high maintenance for the first couple of hours of play time, hatching through infancy, and then the demands ease off so it's worth getting through it. So be clear, with my critical sounding comments in mind, this faithful Tamagotchi reissue is no masterpiece of user experience, but it's 100% pure gold nostalgia and very worthwhile for a play through.
