What's up with that?** A: You have cycle the bolt to eject them. With a regular .22 bullet it is the force generated by the gun powder exploding and the billet going forward that cycles the bolt when you pull the trigger. **Q: How often do you reuse each one for your 22lr?** A: This usage of the anchors is an ingenious, albeit unconventional way to take advantage of their design. Since the .22LR is a rimfire cartridge, it stands to reason they would work well for what's described. I have never employed them this way; but, I would concur that their actual lifetime would vary with the particular firearm used, limited only by the degree to which each one becomes deformed in the process. If it will save a firing pin, and snapping the hammer down repeatedly is part of Your repair plan, You can't go wrong buying a big box of these! Enjoy! **Q: Can I use these with wood screws?** A: If they are the right diameter to expand the anchor. I believe the 4 6 8 designation would indicate those size screws would work. My use of the product was for something entirely different. **Q: I used the 3/16" drill bit to make hole but my anchor won't fit all the way into it. The package said to use the 3/16" so I'm confused and need help** A: Friction is useful for this type of fitting, so the anchor is made for a tight fit. It can be pounded in the last bit with light hammer blows. I purchased these for a completely different purpose, but when I use drywall or concrete anchors, I want them to be tight before mechanically expanding them. Talk about a creative use for wall anchors! They cycle perfectly from mag to chamber. The take about12 to 15 strikes before the rim gets damaged, but if you rotate them you can easily get 50 strikes per "round". The flange is the perfect size so they eject like regular shell as well. I have run them through revolvers, semi auto and bolt action guns and have not yet had a single jam. If they do get jammed, you can simply twist a screw int the center hole and pull it out. These were redesigned and have smaller rims making them useless for a rimfire. Nonetheless, I'm still leaving it as a 5 star review because I'm sure that they work fine as the anchors for which they were designed.This is coming from a Grandmaster ranked speed shooter. Anybody who has tried a .22lr snap cap knows that they are a phenomenal waste of money: $2 apiece, and they break the first time you drop a hammer on them, often to the point that the rim rips off and they can't be extracted with anything other than a barrel rod. These anchors can take multiple hits over time and work perfectly. I just bought my second pack of 100 after many years of use from the first pack. The current version has a rim thickness of .5mm as measured with digital calipers. The actual thickness of a real 22LR rim is 1.0 mm. There are several free designs for 3D printing on the web and they all are about 1 mm rim thickness.and work just like actual rounds. The cu rent Hillman product just swallows into the chamber.
