My son really does enjoy these and it's a cool surprise each time that you scratch them to make your picture. It is a bit messy, almost like when you scratch lotto tickets but it's nothing like playdoh or slime, lol. I do feel like some of the black rubs off even without scratching them but it doesn't do it so bad that it prevents the usability of them. It's a rather large set and comes in a really handy carrying case as well. We would definitely get this again, it's great to keep on hand for when we are out and he needs something to occupy him.

I guess these black scratch pads are pretty popular. There are a lot of listings here on Amazon. The fun thing about these pads is thinking a bit in reverse--taking away instead of adding. In this regard, its a fun art project. The background is always the same, but that's ok. The tools included do a good job of scratching away the black. A fun afternoon project.

Cute packaging！！This is an easy way to create art and not have to worry about crayons or markers on your furniture or walls etc, the only mess there is, the black particles that come up when you draw on the cards. Easy to wipe into your hand and throw away though. Anything you doodle turns out cool.
