Then the breaker bends the Glass or Tile and because it is a rigid material it follows the weakness and breaks cleanly. As Vinyl tile is a relatively soft material it will need to be cut with a sharp blade and whilst it can be bent over a table edge, it cannot be split in the same way a Tile can.
