I made them once and they turned out quite well.

super good if you know the recipe.
try to boil and rinse the noodles and mix with dark soy sauce, schezwan sauce, ketchup, pizza oregano and a half boiled egg with runny yoke. trust me you wont regret it. tastes like heaven. ☺

Not Soft, rather Chewy.
I made japchae out of the packet. The cooking instructions says boil for 7 mins and drain under cold water. Followed the same. The noodles turned out to be very elasticy/chewy, was cumbersome to finish the dinner chewing away through the noodles. I expected the noodles to turn out soft, was a disappointing experience.
