Fellow Carter Wide 12 oz Ceramic Lined Travel Coffee Mug, Tea & Espresso

So I bought this specifically to use on the road with an aeropress. So an aeropress does fit in this, but it's a tight fit. So tight, in fact, that when it's hot and has thermally expanded a bit, it's actually a little tough to get out. This isn't a huge problem, as it's usually cooled enough to take out by the time I've cleaned and straighten up the other parts of coffee brewing, but still worth noting. As a mug all its own, no real complaints. Holds temperature well, and the lid feels tight and hasn't been prone to leaking. It's small, which is good or bad. Easily fits in backpacks and cupholders (those in my car, at least), but might be a little small in volume for some people. Overall, it's easy to recommend and does the job well.

Very well constructed for those who enjoy their beverages. Pros: The curved design is the perfect match for lips. The ceramic interior coating truly does not alter the taste. The twist seal cap is a great addition for constant temperatures and reducing leakage. Cons: The design will most likely not fit into any standard cup holder. The twist cap requires some level of grip strength and at least two hands. The seal will not prevent all leaks if just thrown into a bag carelessly. Overall I enjoy the cup and I do recommend it but reservations on practicality if design.

I am in love with this Mug! I am trying to simplify my life and this mug has been a step in the right direction. It is the only mug use at home or on the road. It’s close to perfect. I love: - ceramic lining is not a gimmick! I have never owned an insulated mug that resisted staining and smells as well as this one. I wash it out with soap and a paper towel and you’d never know it had even been used! This is even after leaving it in my car with coffee over night more than a few times. -Thin metal edge is awesome, can’t go back to plastic spouts (looking at you zojirushi) -powder coated finish feels great - easy to clean, size of spot and removable gasket around lid. Dislike: - coffee stains build up in the grooves of the stainless steal threads, and they are tough to scrub, if you are avoiding abrasives. - be careful not too, and this is obvious, stir your drink with a metal object, you can chip the coating. Get some wooden spoons or a chopstick. - the lid is kind of wide and can be tough to open as there isn’t much grip, especially if your hot drink creates a seal. I’ve used a zojirushi for the last 5 years and since i bought the fellows i haven’t touched it.

I got the smaller version, which is perfect for holding in the hand and looks sleek and unobtrusive. The ceramic coating does a decent job at preventing odors and acidic coating and residues, especially from coffee. The tight lip is a pleasure to drink out of, although I can't say it's really enhanced the olfactory experience, relative to any other cup, other than not ruining it with residual oxidized odors from previous brews. It fits the Aeropress well, although the Fellow Prismo attachment isn't that stable, due to the diagonal walls of the Prismo's filter basket. I thought that was a liiiiiitle strange that the company decided not to ensure its products are complementary, but it fits the regular filter basket of the Aeropress perfectly. Overall, this is a nice cup for making Aeropress into to prevent heat loss, and also works for single-cup pourovers, fitting the V60 without any issues.

Well made mug, Overall very pleased. I love the EKG+, (although Fellow is way past due to creating an Android App) but was disappointed with their Joey Mugs, so I was hesitant to purchase it, but I am glad I did. Prior to this, my "to go" mug was a Cortica (Ceramic Mug with Cork koozie), One of the few options that did not impart off flavors, but it did not retain heat like a double wall Contigo, and was not leak proof! The Contigo although retained heat and was mostly leak proof, always gave the coffee a bad flavor due to the metal, and hard to clean lid. I also didn't like trying to sip hot liquid out of the mouth piece, I found it hard to gauge the temp, and would often burn my tongue. It would stay scalding for too long, then by the time it was drinkable it tasted bad. The Carter Mug is different. It holds heat very well, I have yet to taste any off flavors. I was concerned the metal lip would burn your lips, but that has not been an issue. Having a wide mouth allows you to gauge the temp as you begin to sip. The Carter is not a mug you should try to drink from while driving, so that fact that it does not fit a cup holder, is not a deal breaker. This mug is designed more for tossing it in your bag, and still having a hot beverage when you get where you are going. Or for making a cup of coffee that you can sip for hours and still have a warm to hot cup. Coffee is always best when consumed shortly after brew, but things are not always ideal and the Carter helps bridge that gap. Pros: -Retains heat well (pre-heating is a must) -No off flavors even after the coffee sits in it all day -Easy to sip from, the thin lip is really nice. -Nice tight seal, no leaks -Easy to clean, I hope the ceramic coating holds up over time Cons: -The lid always drips after opening Other: Does not pour well. To be far, it is not designed to be a carafe, (Fellow maybe you can make a ceramic coated insulated carafe, after you release your ODE grinder). At home I like to brew a 30g:500g V60 into a hario glass carafe. Before owning the Carter mug, the coffee in the carafe would cool rather quickly, but I really had no other options to keep it warm, without reheating, or having a double walled metal container impart terrible taste. With the Carter, I brew my coffee, pour 170g into a Bodum double walled glass cup, and the rest into the Carter. When I finish my cup, I pour another 1/2 cup from the carter. I always spill a little down the side at the start and stop of the pour. From there I either pour another 1/2 cup or take the Carter with me around the house and finish it over the next few hours. It really does stay hot enough for me to enjoy for many hours. We are not talking 160 degrees all day, but it nicely holds a temp that is more enjoyable than not having it in the Carter. Opening it less helps, which is why I pour into a cup at first, and I'm sure if I left it unopened and full, the temp inside would remain much hotter. Overall, I like it, I'd buy another, and I'd recommend it to anyone, even if you don't need a to go mug, it's great for at home use too.

I'm not saying that it keeps the heat for a whole day Nobody makes coffee now to drink it tomorrow I'm talking about making coffee and drinking it at the same time with intermittent intervals to do something here and there You will find it hot I tested it on how well it retains heat, put coffee in it and left it closed tightly for 24 hours. Then I found that the coffee was warm, not suitable for me because I do not like warm or cold coffee The best for me is that the coffee is completely hot If you like warm coffee and you don't mind, this is suitable for you after a whole day And I think most of you won't leave coffee in a cup for a whole day The beautiful thing about this cup is that it is easy to drink coffee from it, as it is like any normal cup

As with any other Fellow product I’ve purchased, this is fantastic. Keeps my coffee hot, leak proof, great size, and the sleeve it comes with protects the finish from scratching when I throw this mug in my backpack. A few notes to be aware of - this mug is a bit too large to comfortably fit in my car’s cup holders, additionally, because this is a completely closed mug, when you remove the lid and have hot coffee inside, there will be condensation and some drips that come off the cap. Neither of those notes are an issue for how I use this mug, but they are important to factor into your purchasing decision. Another well made Fellow product, thanks!

I cannot express how much I love this little guy. The aeropress fits perfectly on top, it fits a cup of coffee from the aeropress perfectly, it fits my hand perfectly, it keeps my coffee hot for a VERY long time, it looks good, and best of all, it allows me to enjoy my single cup of coffee over an extended period of time rather than chugging it like I normally do because I don’t want it to get cold. This means I drink less coffee but savor every sip of my single cup instead. 10/10 I 100% recommend this to anyone who brews their own coffee at home.

Wirklich sehr gut, genau wie erwartet. Die Dichtung ist so dick, dass sie ein Gewinde hat und der Deckel den Hauptteil nicht berührt – nur die Dichtung. Die Thermoskanne liegt gut in der Hand, da die Oberfläche rutschfest und leicht geriffelt ist. Der DI-Assistent berechnet die Höhe der Thermoskanne (ohne Deckel) falsch; man sollte bedenken, dass sie fast genauso hoch ist wie mit Deckel. Trotzdem passt sie unter die ECM-Kaffeemaschine. Der Innenraum ist wunderbar – weiß und bei richtiger Pflege geruchsneutral. Man sollte sie direkt nach dem Trinken ausspülen; bei Kaffee mit Milch reicht es, sie mit einem Papiertuch abzuwischen. Das ist ein großer Vorteil gegenüber herkömmlichen Thermoskannen, die oft metallisch riechen. Die Wärmespeicherung ist positiv. Vor dem ersten Gebrauch füllen wir die Kanne halbvoll mit heißem Wasser und lassen sie 3–5 Minuten ziehen. Auch Kaffee mit erwärmter Milch füllen wir etwa bis zur Hälfte ein. Nach zwei Stunden ist der Kaffee immer noch recht warm; man kann ihn nicht in großen Schlucken trinken. Nach drei Stunden ist es immer noch warm genug, und nach vier Stunden – immer noch angenehm warm, wärmer, man kann es nicht mehr als „nur ein bisschen warm“ bezeichnen. Das Ergebnis ist also vergleichbar mit den Thermoskannen, die für mich den Maßstab für Wärmespeicherung darstellen.

This cup does exactly what I need. I make a black coffee at 7am and when I go to drink it at 1030/11 it’s too hot. I have to leave the lid off for a few minutes. I don’t pre warm the cup as it’s unnecessary. Perfect for bringing a coffee to work. No leaks. Love it.

Después de varios meses de uso se mantiene en perfectas condiciones. Lo utilizo para llevarme el té/café y no beber del malo que tenemos en el trabajo. - Las bebidas se mantienen calientes alrededor a 5-6 horas, si lo preparas por la mañana antes de trabajar, te lo puedes beber a temperatura óptima a media mañana. - Es fácil de limpiar, como por dentro esta recubierto de un material cerámico blanco, no es nada poroso y a veces sería suficiente enjuagarlo con agua y volver a depositar otra bebida en el mismo día. - No te tenido ningún problema de fugas y la goma de la tapa sigue manteniéndose en su sitio después de medio año. Es caro sí, pero cumple su cometido perfectamente, es limpio, mantiene las bebidas calientes y tienes la seguridad de que no se va a salir. Además es bonito, la gente me suele decir que parece un altavoz portátil. Repetiré con algún producto más de la marca.

I was looking for a small, modestly sized thermos style mug that was *actually* leak proof to take inside my bag on the way to work. This criteria is apparently not easy to find, and I was fairly hesitant with spending this much on something that I'd spent half as much on for twice the size before. Having not found anything else that matched all my criteria (not small enough, or not actually leak proof), I pulled the trigger on one of these. Although it is just a mug, I've been fairly blown away by how good it is. It's small and fits in bags much easier than most thermos mugs which tend to be tall and skinny. It is *actually* leak proof, the lid screws down tight, and you're not relying on a little silicone stopper jammed into a spout, to stop your entire coffee from filling the inside of your bag, like alot of other options at this size. You can quite confidently chuck it into your bag and not worry if it spins upside down. It keeps drinks nice and warm, or cold, for as long as most people would reasonably need. The ceramic inside also holds less of the stale coffee smell that gets into all thermos mugs, although, it does still happen. Cleaning is also much easier than other mugs. There aren't any moving parts or straws that are hard to clean, and the opening is wide so you can get your hand and a sponge in quite easily. It also looks great. The texture makes the external feel hard wearing and grippy in the hand. I'd definitely say that this is worth the extra money over other travel coffee mugs. Alot of 'brand names' sell products with premium price tags without offering anything unique or premium for the price, but that definitely isn't the case here.
